possibly a stupid question, but does the Finally DI have an input buffer...?
i'll be running some other pedals into it, as well as some instruments with piezo pickups, so wondering how they will all comingle...

I would like to point out that's it's not "everyone", as I said that when you finish the Venus X you should work on my impossible custom design mashup that only lives in my dreams.

Finally does not have an input buffer, it goes straight into a gainstage with a 1MΩ input impedance.

On that note, I'm temporarily stopping backorders of Finally while I build up transformer stock for the upcoming Venus X production. They use the same Lightning Boy transformer for the D.I. output, and they're the single most expensive thing I buy, so I'm going to be focusing on Venus X for a bit. Once I get the first batch of Venus X finished up I'll change gears back to replenishing stock of the other models and will get Finally back in stock then.

PSA: I'm doing a little dirt/OD shootout right now and the UA sounds incredible. It's so easy to dial in the right amount and that tube breakup sounds soooo good.

Put together the first "early access unit" Venus X tonight. This is it folks. This is the pedal. It's taken a lot of time and a lot of revisions to get here with @TonyP- , but hot damn it was worth it. My bass is currently out of commission (long story) but I verified that it's honestly a pretty solid preamp for guitar. The cabsim isn't exactly what I would go for as a guitarist, but it's still very much usable.

So remember how everyone said the ground lift switch needed to be externally accessible and I tried to rationalize it because it was inconvenient even though I knew everyone was right? Well here you go.

Thank you for listening to your customers (not just @TonyP-). Without a ground-lift, I never would have considered the Venus X, but now it has been put on my *wish* list.

Personally, I will be looking at the Venus X as a replacement for the Aguilar Tone Hammer DI that I am currently using. I'm thinking that the Tone Hammer DI would make an excellent backup DI in the old gig bag.

There'll be many asking particular questions who don't wanna sift through this thread.......myself included......I find myself now wanting a reminder of where the freq centers are on the eq, but not ready to spend another 15 minutes searching for the post(s)......I suspect there's gonna be a lotta that A single reference point will save your precious time in the long run. Cheers.

Maybe I'm complicating things, there's enough room above the EQ controls that Señor Sushi could make a "minor" adjustment in the labelling, and put the frequency centers above each band.
(I know that almost no one does this, but it'd be a nice touch)

This is fine and all, but what’s with that graphic. I mean, what is that anyway? Could you put a graphic on this that is something that most of us could recognize, you know like a bicycle or a basketball? Something that looks like something real. And how come everybody chooses blue color for the clean knob. I really think clean should be represented by a green knob. And red color knobs for the boost is so cliché. I think brown knobs would be a much better choice, and how come the XLR is on the bottom left, it just feels like it belongs on the top side of the left. I don’t know maybe it’s just me, but I would think seriously about redesigning that feature. As a matter fact, I think you missed a great opportunity to incorporate a custom shaped enclosure to more closely represent the name of the product. How hard would it have been to find somebody to make you an enclosure in the form of an hourglass female figure. Think about it, the marketing opportunities, the Venus X shaped like a woman. You kind of dropped the ball there, Nathan. Now let’s talk about the font, it’s too easy to read. People need to put in some effort to feel like they are getting their money’s worth. Speaking of money, if you price this less than $1200, than I just don’t know what to say. Maybe you should think about bizniss school before you develop any more products. I’m sure you’ll get this all sorted, and when you do, congratulations are in order.

Due to the complexity of the circuit it would have to be significantly larger and mich more expensive to make a handwired version. We're very happy with the sound we've gotten out of it and I plan to keep it as SMD for consistency.

That being said I am toying with the idea of running the SMD version at 350V internally like I do on HW builds by using higher voltage rated SMD components (which exist).

Noted, thanks! I have a blurb written up and a draft of the page for the website, but I agree it could use more details. With everything going on in this pedal it's going to be better to err on the side of too much information to make sure all the questions can be answered before they are asked
