It's been a minute since I've worked on anything new, but I do have a couple things I'm hoping to have ready for NAMM. This is the one that's on the bench tonight, getting ready to print/powdercoat/box up the first prototype.

Based on the artwork, I think it’s something related to Elementary, Dr Watson, Detective.

I'm guessing it's a one tube more and the name is a throwback to the deep dish comp that more was originally part of.

On the right track, but nope. The single-tube More was called "A Little More" and I didn't like it enough to put it into production, I only made 2.

I like Canadian Bacon and Mushrooms on my Single Slice. Nothing like a NY Slice.

Whatever it is, someone is gonna comment it would be perfect with a DI. And high pass and low pass filters. And headphones out. Oh and don't forget the aux in. With 6 trimpots on the inside and sugar on top. In five, four ...

I wanted to go simple on this one. The vast majority of Deep Dish users were using it for subtle compression, even though it was capable of really over the top squeeze. So I figured a simple compressor based around a great sounding tube section would do the trick.

Why go for a full Deep Dish when a Single Slice is plenty?

Long time reader, first time responder and recent convert. I acquired an Underground Accelerator off the classifieds which will pretty much never leave my board. This new compressor is now on my wish list - along with a Finally, as possible replacements for a VTBass DI and my Diamond Comp.

Just a bit of speculation here: Is it an optical compressor like the deep dish? And is that LED a gain reduction indicator?

Yes it is an optical compressor, and the LED on top is a gain reduction indicator. I don't have room for the LED bar like on Deep Dish, and also I was never able to get it working the way I wanted it to anyway, so I decided to leave it off on this one.

Please explain the signal path. I see vents for two tubes.

Tube stage -> tube stage -> sidechain/gain reduction -> tube stage -> tube stage -> output

I first tried it with a single tube and it works okay, but I like the feel better with the two tubes.

I actually went all series stages in this one, no parallel stages. Circuit design does not have anything in common with More.
