The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Nobelium and UA users... What's the diff ? If I have it ... both are based on the Fender / RCA tone stack. The Showman variant has passive mids. In that variant, 2-10-2 was approximate flat. The UA has way more low end on tap - a good thing in my book. So What does the Nobelium bring to the table ?
Nobelium is based on the Noble. Not a lot in common with a Fender preamp aside from the tonestack.

Shameless impatient bump for some quick input to account for the subsequent LB enthusiasm after positing this.
Entwistle used Hiwatt, so Elementary or Detective would both be safe bets for getting into that territory, depending on how much gain you want and whether or not you want two channels.

I mean... maybe? I think Entwistle's sound was about more than which amp he used, but he did indeed have a reputation for using Hiwatt stuff. So the Elementary is probably a good shout. I don't think it's meant to get overly gritty, even with the gain turned up, but I expect that would actually work well in this case.

EDIT: Ooh, Sushi Chef beat me to it!

Asking for a friend -
what would be a good pedal to emulate an Entwistle-type sound - the Elementary?

He needs it for a gig where it isn't always on, for specific sounds on only specific songs.
I’m an Entwistle fan with both an Elementary and a Detective (and a Reeves 225 HiWatt clone). I can tell you that the Elementary (and the Detective) will absolutely help you nail that Entwistle HiWatt tone. If you held a gun to my head and told me that I could only have one Sushi Pedal - or one overdrive - it would be the Elementary/Detective.

Can you compare, contrast ? So far there are no Noble pre's anywhere near me to demo. I'm beyond curious with the Nobelium...
UA gets dirty NB doesn't.
NB has DI, UA doesn't.
NB has HPF. UA does not.
Their tone stacks sit differently relative to their respective gain stages. This will affect how the tone stacks react.

Got the first handful finished up, I'm going to try to start shipping these out tonight. I have another nine units mostly finished, hoping to get those done today or tomorrow, which will put me slightly ahead of the preorders.

Also hoping to find time to put together a quick demo video for these, because they sound GOOD.

Stoked to get mine, any way I can reserve serial number 8? It's my favorite number.

Now aren't you glad I was so persistent in getting you to do this one?

Is there much difference between this and the prototype I have? I do prefer the smaller size.

I was hoping I could find some way to make my Nobelium builds stick out from the regular DIY ones, aside from the Unagi transformer and the separate XLR volume. I want something aesthetic that jumps out. I'm sure I'll think of something.
