The smaller bass is one made for Wil de Sola to his design ,by Gunter Krahmer in 1983. It is a 3/4 fatback, using American Broadleaf Maple and (Canadian?) spruce.
The larger was made by our local genius, Harry (C.A.) Vatiliotis, for me in 1992 as a 5 stringer, but currently set up as a 4. It is of European timbers and swell-backed.
My dog still leaves the room when I practice!!!!

Here's my beauty. I've had it for years but haven't played much - time to change that! 2013 is going to be the year I get serious with my bass playing 
It was built 1949 in Sweden and has been through quite a lot it seems. Several repairs, including a broken neck at some point. Sounds great though and a total joy to play!

My mid 20th Century German/Czech carved bass, fresh out of the shop. Had some chips on the top plate touched up, new hatpegs installed and a setup done.
Just a reminder that this thread is for showing off personal basses. One-off builds are definitely allowed, but lines of basses by commercial vendors are not.
Just picked this up recently (have been looking for the right one for years) and am extremely pleased. 1957 King Mortone. I'm the 3rd owner. Wonderfully articulate midrange and clear, powerful lows. Terrific condition, too, with no breaks or repairs.
Upton Professor Special Deluxe. English sycamore flat back with amber varnish, cello tuners...gorgeous.
It will be even nicer once I can play it decently. I've been hitting up your YouTube page!
Maybe I should get it pin-striped or a custom flame job!

My Crusher Custom Aluminum Bass "Angel" model #002 is worth a peak I think.
That's some fancy! I've always wondered, how do those metal basses amplify? they seem like they'd be a feedback nightmare.
