Both, anyone who complains about either is in the wrong, they should just be gracious someone was being nice to them. I'm an Atheist and I wish people happy Christmas if I know they celebrate it, it's not like by being polite as am blessing the belief system.

Both, anyone who complains about either is in the wrong, they should just be gracious someone was being nice to them. I'm an Atheist and I wish people happy Christmas if I know they celebrate it, it's not like by being polite as am blessing the belief system.
So it seems the "non-PC Club" is more like the "PC when we agree with it and non-PC when we don't club".
But isn't it just the same if you turn it the other way around?
Things come out of the mouths of some PC folks who happen to have wide forums (they're on tv or radio) that make me really, really mad. Just as much as their non-PC counterparts...we need not name names and get the thread closed. I think you get the picture.
Know what I do? I turn them off! Change the channel, read another article, put some music on! That's not enough for some folks, though. Don't they realize that ratings determine whether someone continues to have a public forum, and that not giving them the time of day will make them disappear?
If someone is making me angry in person, I just say, "Well, I disagree. If you can't stop going on about this, I'm going elsewhere." Its better, for me, than hitting 'em. So long as they agree to leave me alone, everyone's good and no one gets anything hurt other than their feelings.
I don't sue them. I don't go around trashing them. There was a guy running his mouth at the ice house the other night about women who get abused, raped, etc., and how its their fault. I could have blown up at him, I could have made a big deal. But it doesn't do any good, and only makes him more determined to run his mouth. I just told him that I could not respond without vitriol, and so I would go get myself a fresh beer instead. I left him to ponder the meaning of the word, "vitriol".
But, in this country, if you tick off some PC devotee, you had better have your attorney with you. Someone like that would have made a big stink over this dumb guy!
Its crazy! No matter what you say or how you express it, no matter your views, you're going to offend *someone*, because you can always find someone who will disagree.
PC has made it so that people no longer simply agree to disagree. No, they go attack each other, in the courts. NUTS!!! No one wants to just be a grownup and ignore things. No, they gotta go get a lawyer and make a legal stink.

Not in this thread but every time there's a discussion like this the main evidence tends to be someone saying "I wished someone a happy Christmas and they told me they weren't Christian! How dare they! PC has gone too far!"
It seems totally stupid to me. It's no different to if I said to you "Have fun at the Lanegan concert!" and you told me you weren't going and for some reason I got annoyed at you for not wishing me a good time back. Why do some people think the first is justified but the second example would be unreasonable? I'm no fan of PC but I really think getting annoyed by people who don't care to hear about Christmas is borderline idiocy.

It seems you almost got the point, but then lost it at the end. Having a non-PC club is just as stupid as having a PC club. To say that all PC people run around suing those who are non-PC is as ridiculous as me saying that to be non-PC you must use the "n-word". Get a life people, this is not a black and white issue. PC and non-PC are both questions of degree about what YOU think is correct for you and your sensibilities. For some, its PC rubbish to not be able to use the n-word, for others its just common sense. Ah, common sense, a thing that is, perhaps, lacking in this thread (although, perhaps not specfically in your posts).

No one here is preaching Christianity, in fact the only example in this thread that relates to what you're talking about is the non-Christian getting "offended" to being wished a Merry Christmas and escalating the issue. You're right in that PC/non-PC isn't a black/white issue (we're not talking race here, using b/w, for those who may take it like that). What is PC to one person is not, to another.
I'm not saying *all* PC folk sue...they don't. It is, however, become ever-more prevalent in this country, and I think that is extremely dangerous to free speech and civil freedoms. Its getting to where people cannot express opinions in certain areas...school, work, the media...without suffering more-dire consequences than their offense deserves. It stifles the speech of everyone. To me, this is a bad thing.
Heck, sometimes I think hearing people using the n-word, etc., or spouting off about controversial topics is a handy tool. Lets me know who they really are, so I can steer clear of such goobers. (Oh no! I called bigots "goobers"! They may not like that. Best just call 'em bigots, huh?)

Yep. The ACLU will represent *anyone* whose free speech has been violated, no matter their opinion or cause. They defend people I think are right, and they defend people I think are wrong. They defend free speech, period. That's a good thing! Even when I disagree!

I don't need no stinkin' club, I do and say as I believe and people can take it or leave it. Of course, usually they leave it, but thus is life.
