Most every comment that blows up nowadays would best be handled with a roll of the eyes and a slow head shake instead of lawyers.

awesome post. one requires common sense and the other just requires procedures. The latter just like working in a corporation.
I couldn't disagree more. The problem is not "issues of gray" it is the concept that people should be censured or punished by civil authorities for expressing their opinions or being sloppy with their language because they offended someone. The problem with PC is this: NO ONE HAS A RIGHT NOT TO BE OFFENDED. And no group should be treated special when it comes to this nonexistent right.

Though I don't particularly agree with what this group is doing, I do believe under the constitutional rights of free speach and protest/assembly, these quacks have the right to do this.

Listen, when a self-proclaimed "non-PC" person expresses his distaste for the ACLU because they represent Nazis or whatever, it's a moment of beautiful irony. He doesn't realize that being a Nazi is just about the most non-PC thing in the world to be, and that his desire to shut them (and the ACLU) up is a very politically correct desire to have.
So please, let these people make statements that dig them deeper and deeper into the irony hole until someday, here's hoping, they actually sit down and have a good, in-depth think about their values and realize it for themselves.

IMHO if you're whining about what other people think or say you're PC. A true non PC doesn't spend their days whining about others.
Part of the bad part of playing the devil's advocate, is that no one likes the devil.
When I was a kid we had this saying "Stick and stones may break my bones but names will never harm me". Sure, you looked like a dork if you said it but the concept that someone saying things about your weight or wishing you happy holidays is not going to cause any lasting harm is a good one that should still hold today.
Now any time I see any group claiming to be deeply wounded because of what someone said I think of that group as a bunch of pathetic inferior losers barely able to scrape up the strength to cry. You hear that Oprah fans?
Is that PC?
And I support American Civil Liberties, you can't get any more non PC than supporting liberty.
You can't just shut down any Christian expressing their faith. I say allow freedom for all religions and let them protest without making special laws targeted at their dogma. That's too PC for my tastes and I wouldn't want the government deciding what can be said.

I'd agree, and also to make people feel good about themselves for doing nearly nothing.
Tact and common courtesy are one thing, PC-ness is generally about whiney liberals wielding power and liking it.
For example: Christmas
I live in a Muslim country and I have lost count of the people who have wished me a merry Christmas just to be polite and civil and considerate. Also, I would submit that Muslims living in (for example) Britain are not overly bothered by Christmas celebrations (at least the ones I know aren't). The only ones who get their underwear in a wad are the (white English) PC crowd: not because they actually know that some are offended, but because they think that some might be offended but they are not prepared to actually go and find out.
They can't seem to see that just because they hysterically think Andy Pandy is a fascist and the Magic Roundabout denegrates women, then everybody else must have a similarly low tolerance threshold.
Whenever I think of PC, I automatically picture Ric from The Young Ones. Unfortunately, he seems to have multiplied.

Oh yes, all those signs saying "God hates" or "Thank God for dead soldiers" thats just shouting out Christianity and really expressing their faith to me.
