Nope, but there are two options that are possible :

- either tone direct from the bass,
- either tone thru the DI of my Sennheiser UHF.

I have no Samson at home, sorry.

Clips from the LMII are quite possible, and of course with all settings flat.

Could this work for you ?

Yes. Any comparison of "good" vs "bad" would help me understand exactly what you're hearing.

OK Vic, gonna do the recordings tomorrow if I find the time. They will be recorded directly to my PC soundcard. Not top quality of course, but if there's a noticeable difference it will be heard.

BTW, I have another clue, but I won't be able to tell at least before next gig (Friday night). Have something to check first.

No prob, not promising any results, but if nothing else, just out of curiosity, at least I tried.

I am going to give it a few more gigs though as it did the job in the end and i had gigged it a few times before i had to change the drivers over and it worked fine. I just really want to use the UL115 again as i love that sound but logistics say i can only use one or the other as my cab has to stay at my drummers house so i cant really keep changing them over.

Hi Dave, I use the LMII into a Aguilar GS112 AND an EV TL115= a KILLER rig @ 4 ohms-Plenty of bass getting out front & top cab I sometimes angle up to my ear level:hyper:
Basically-I'm saying-why not simply try a 1x15" under yr 2x12- that way U aint selling & 'losing' $$$$ on the 2x12"- Or is this too much to move about this way!!!:help:

rod, thats a good idea but not practical on two points.
The main one being my UL212 is 4ohms but also i wouldnt have room in the car for that and another cab. My UL115 is slightly smaller but i think i could fit a 2x10 in with it. I would say 90% of my gigs the UL115 on its own is fine. I really got the UL212 because i had these Holiday camp gigs coming up and wanted a bit more power and i think it worked to a point. It was just the stages or rooms that mucked things up :-(. On the biggest of the three gigs i had the amp putting out less power and it sounded good on stage and on the dance floor and this was befor ei hooked it in to the PA so i do have the power there i guess. Maybe i was silly in trying to just use my rig and not the PA at the smaller ones.
Its just maybe the sound isn't what i was hoping for. I didnt think i liked my 1210 for a while but ive grown to rely on that cab and never worry about not being heard and i guess i should have just got a 1212L instead of the UL212. But who knows, in a few gigs time i may really love the UL212. Certainly its a good sounding cab, just different to what im used to.

Ah I see. Didn't realize the UL212 was 4 ohm.....both my GS112 & EV TL115 are 8 ohm cabs!! I've found at 8 ohms just thru the EV TL115 the LMII is F******N loud -if U need it to be & at 4 ohms thru BOTH cabs-HOOTS!!!!! It's a VERY loud li'l amp(or I should be electrrrallery correct & say -very powerful!!!!!)- I STILL MUCH prefer using my valve amps, BUT It's the ONLY S.S. amp I've even remotely liked! & I love it! Sounds GREAT with my Uprite!!!

Since i got the drivers replaced the UL212 sounds different. I like it better now and it is very loud with my MB heads, just not sure its what i expected. It does put out a good solid tone though so i will give it time. As most of my gigs are on wooden stages ill need to look in to this a bit more to get the most form the rig but ive not had too much trouble with the regular gigs yet.

Hi, still updating. I have changed my bass this week. Switched from a Tobias Killer B 5 to an MM SR5. The problem has instantly disappeared. So that was neither the amp nor the sound engineer, that was the bass. It's strange that the sound was better balanced with an external DI, but now with the SR5 the results are quite similar, either with an external DI or the MarkBass (when all set flat).

So this weekend I had two gigs, and I used the D.I. output of the LMII. No problem. I just made two small tweakings, just for tone (a slight touch of boost on the low mids to cut through better, and VLE turned at 8 o'clock). Everything is perfect now. Thanks to everyone for your help.

Hi guys,
Well, I've been dying to get my hands on one of these babies for a while now and was all set to get a SA450 till I purchased an NS design wav EUB..now I need a "switching" device to use the EUB with my Cirrus 5er...to this end I was going to get an EBS microbass..THEN I discovered the Markbass LMK which seems like the perfect solution..however I notice its "pre" di which is a bit of a downer. Basically I play a lot of corporate gigs and we have a feckin HUGE rig so everything is Di'd, so, our onstage amps are just backline/monitors, and I know from bitter experience that whats going out front and what I'm hearing through my amp on-stage are 2 entirely different things.

It's baffling to me how you'd have an amp with two channels each with seperate eq and then not have a post di :confused: it seems to defeat the purpose (fine if your playing in a small venue where your amp is providing your foh sound but when di'ing to a rig it makes no sense).

So, this is my concern with the LMK...other than that I would buy this baby in the morning, as it is I reckon I'll go with the SA450/EBS microbass option.

I'd love to hear any other experiences with the LMK using 2 basses and di'ing from you guys/gals, like I said apart from the pre di the LMK seems perfect for my needs.

You have it wrong. the LMK is set up so the DI is post not pre (according to the manual).
Where did you read it was the other way round?
Its very easy to change though, its just a jumper inside. I have the pdf showing how to do it.

I think there was a guy on Basschat i think that was disappointed with the way the LMK is configured. cant remember what it was but it didnt sound like the head was all that useful. might have been the way the filters or effect loop was set up.
