Actually soundwise it would have.
I put this in another thread but long story short, when i got the cab home i plugged in and we were recording a demo at the time.
I had the front PUP full up, no EQ on the bass, slight low end boost on the amp (ignore the settings in the picture) and played very lightly over the start of the neck. we were trying to get an upright sound. when ever i played around the 5th fret on the low B string there was a very loud vibrating/flapping sound coming from inside the cab. It was louder than the notes. Backing off the lows a bit helped but i felt it might not handle much higher levels (master was on 1.5) at a gig.
Took it back and got the 1x15. no problems with that.
A small cab will only put out so much volume, so your experience makes total sense. The cool thing is, the larger cabs that sound so full and powerful, like your new Epi212UL, now weigh less than the small cabs did 10 years ago. Cool!
Edit: Isn't the Markbass voicing beautiful with the EpiUL's... just wonderful IMO!
