The Top Ten Things I Learned From Talkbass

1. Apparently, all guitar players are idiots.

2. Cover bands are better (and much cooler) than bands who write their own songs.

3. Playing in a band at church is popular.

4. There hasn't been any good rock music since the 70s or 80s.

5. Wearing your bass above your balls is the proper way to play.

6. Setting your bass on fire is not cool and is guaranteed to kill hundreds of innocent people.

Going to attempt to answer this seriously. Not sure if this is my "top 10", but it is the "first 10 to come to mind"...
  • Rubber stands will destroy a nitro finish.
  • Guns aren't always bad.
  • Deoxit can perform electronic miracles.
  • Strings are an entirely personal thing.
  • Flatwounds are a fad, they're not better than roundwounds, and will never be.
  • Warwick resale value is horrible.
  • Changes in forum format really are for the better and I just hate change.
  • I get a lot more accomplished when I'm not hanging around Talkbass.
  • Mike N is the guy to go for car trouble.
  • The vast majority of bass players are awesome, loving, intelligent people with a great sense of humor.
