I bought this rig this weekend from someone who had it in his living room since new. Never gigged. The amp is an AH250SMX and its insanely modestly rated power wise. I cant believe how much juice it seems to have.
Thanks guys. I am really impressed so far with how good this rig sounds. I don't normally like mixing cabs but these two seem to work together really well. The vertical array sure makes a difference as the drivers are closer to my ears when playing.
There is a bit of a hum coming from the amp through both cabs. Not sure what that could be. Dont notice it when playing but its there all the time. Anyone have any experience with that?
I will have to sign up. Just realized there is a part three of this thread going on. I do want to sort out the ground hum with my amp but hope its not a big deal.
My next Trace head WILL have a blacklight...I've tried to find an empty factory case w/the light for my AH130, but no luck there.
Just wondering, any of my fellow ah1200 owners ever ran yours to its full potential? By this I mean ran enough cabs actually be down to 2 ohms on each Channel (i.e 4 8 x 10's). I know it's supposed to be capable of doing it, but for me it would be impossible to acquire enough cabs to try, but just to experience that sheer volume just once would be something!
