I opened it a couple of weeks ago, to see if I could spot broken parts or anything, no such luck regrettably.
The build quality is top notch, a cables are neatly routed and tied down. The case, albeit sturdy, is a bit of a pain to open.
One thing I did notice is that they used a fuse holder for HT with two poles, and used only one of them. And left the other one bareWith 700+ Volts of HT this is not a very wise thing to do, I think I will put a piece of shrinkwrap over this.

I'd say so! When you try all sorts of equipment and still comeback to Trace yea, you are a fanatic!Planet Boulder said:Does this qualify me for fanatic status?![]()

I've got that head in a combo! Man, it's great! I don't think I'll be needing another amp for a looong time, not bad for a second bass amp, eh? My other one is a Trace too, but it's a small practice combo...Planet Boulder said:Just traded a fellow TBer for an 80s AH250 (11-band) and I am now reminded of why I have always dug Trace. MAN that is one LOUD and sweet sounding head!
I actually wanted it for a practice head, but I'm going to use it at my next gig as well.
This makes, what, the sixth Trace amp I've owned (if you include both power amps).

Psycho Bass Guy said:The Hexavalve is identical to the VA350, the slightly smaller little brother to the VA400. The power sections between the two differ significantly.
