The Bright Box is a must have for me when running distortion. It helps me cut through better. It gives the distortion more bite. I haven't noticed any negative effects other than the light hiss I mentioned earlier.

BTW, when you get it, don't judge what it can do for you until you use it at a band practice. The very first time I broght mine to practice my guitarist and drummer noticed it's presense immediately! :bassist:

well I just got my gp12X pre in the mail today and now I need some recommendations first power amp suggestions and cabs I think im going to go with 8ohm 4X10 cabs (2) but what manufactures should I look into? oh and the serial number is 622/0111 would you guys be able to tell me what year it was made?

Other than the light tube... that looks like a config that my 6 spacer roto was in, when I had the CE1000... If you put a QSCPLX1602 in the place of the Crown... that's what I have in my bigger rig.

How do you like that pre?

Yeah, the crown is heavy, but it sounds so good. I really love the pre. It's fantastic. I don't really need more than the 1100 watts at 4 ohms bridged, though. That is plenty loud for me.

...for that much $$$, I think there are many better alternatives to achieve what it does & probably sound better doing it...

PS: Does that Bright Box even have an internal crossover or ???...I wonder what would happen to those poor little speakers if a full range signal hit them...

Yes, it does. It has an internal high pass "crossover", and the claim is that you do not have to "count" its impedance when adding it to another cab or cabs.
