Here is my trace preamp I just got and I it sounds sweet I cant wait to gig with it now.

Just got back from vacation and thought I would let everyone know there is a 4052h Bright Box for sale in Indianapolis
at Guitarworks. They are in Greenwood, Indiana (southside of Indy). The case is in near perfect shape and only needs
dust bunnies cleaned from the speakers. It can be yours for $199! If I had the extra cash I would have bought it!
I also missed a HexaValve they had by two days. :crying:

BTW, they are now a Trace Elliot dealer. They had the new 410 and 115 cabs in stock. They also have a used AH350SMX
head w/UV lamp, 410, and 118. All appeared to be in excellent shape.

Sorry, they didn't have any of the new heads :( or I would be writing a review of them.

Bought my first TRACE ELLIOT in 1986 from Birmingham's Musical Exchanges it was a 1008 (250w 8X10 combo) for £600 with a Aria SB1000. I gave the 1008 to my best freind 3 years ago to learn on when I bought my current Trace Series 6 AH500X head and Fender 4X10 and 1X15 cabs (£350 quid all-in S/H in LOOT) for transport reasons (we no longer own a group van we all own cars!!) and the only thing thats broken on the 1008 in 20 years is a mains fuse in Bordeaux in France in 1996 ! And when that happened it was due to the dire electrics in a small club, when I hit bottom E the lights went out and the fuse blew!! The new rig sounds better ( i love the sound of a 1x15 in the morning!) to me and is easier to move than the 8X10 combo but i will always remember the first gut wrenching boom i heard from my old 1008 combo that fateful day in September 1986. Being an Englishman it made me proud............

I got one of my geetarist one of those H-100 heads last year. (actually, he's buying it from me). He loves it. It was loaded with 4 brand new Mullard EL34's. Best geetar tone I've ever heard. Sounds great out of a Trace 4x12 (or sometimes 2)

My other geetarist is looking for a C-100. (that's the combo). Great stuff!!!

So is this

the backwoods cousin TE didn't want you to know about.
No offense to Peavey, I like quite a bit of their gear.

You know, I knew somebody was going to say that eventually. It's really nothing like a Trace as far as the circuitry goes. The only thing that makes it Trace-like is the fact that it has a graphic EQ. Trace uses a gyrator EQ, and ours is constant-Q. Peavey has been using graphic EQs on bass amps since the early 80's.

Sorry if this seems a bit defensive, but I'm one of the designers of this amp, and I can assure you that Trace had no, and will never have any involvement with our products.

Just though I'd show this in the old thread here, saying as Trace is who I go to for awesome bass tone!

And I got it all for £350, or $660 to some of you guys! Talk about deals!

And to refer to the post above, isn't TB great? Where else in the web can you converse with such a wide variety of bass VIPs? We've got luthiers, pro players, amp builder and legions of foot soliders! Yay!

The rig on the left (Hartke HA 3500 / Hartke 2x10 and originally a hartke 1x15) was meant to replace my two TE 715 combo's (right) bought in 1993 and 1994 - with consecutive serial numbers!!! - that sounded just great with everything else, but sadly the 15" speakers didn't get the best from my 12string bass.

I hung onto them for a short while after getting the new Hartke rig, being in no rush to sell. They have my sound built into them and came in very handy when the Hartke 15" cab died twice on me while under warranty. I replaced that with the Ashdown 4x10 cab in the photo.

I then decided to use them for the more cramped gigs as an excuse not to sell them. At our biggest gigs, I use the lot.

Motto: Never part with your best rig.
