Do any of you V= type enthusiasts notice a tonal difference between running at 4 vs 2 ohms? Which do you prefer and why?

yeah i think so this thing is KILLER for that money.. Im not sure what they normally go for but i think this is one of the best heads I have had.

I saw one for sale at a pawn shop near me and they were asking over $500. It is a great sounding head which reminded me of an Aguilar DB750. Loud and mean!!!

OH yeah this thing RUMBLES for sure.. i was trying to crank it on my 70s Ampeg 810 cab last night and i was afraid it was gonna tear it apart.. the only thing I wish it had that my Ampg SVT 7 pro has is a MID Frequency selector .. HAHA but this thing is LOUDDDDDDDD and PUNCHY .. I definitely found a KEEPER here beats the Carvin B1500 i had for sure..

The switches for bass and treble are on when in down position which is odd for Americans. I like the switched both in the down position when I put my V6 on an 8x10 cab.

Trace Elliot U.S. distribution was purchased by Gibson who decided not to keep the V Type line active here. So there are very few of them in the States.

OK a guy has 2 Trace cabs for sale 8 ohm. can these be daisy chained and used withthe V type 600 H as they are both 8 ohm cabs or would that fry them?

Yes, two 8 ohm cabs can be chained for a 4 ohm total load, which is fine with most amps.

As great as the MOSFET V types are, the tube ones are even MORE insane! Still miss my V6 sometimes....
