...another vote for the Audiokinesis Hathor 12.......I have burned through more 12s than I care to admit....this one has bested them all....for tone, ergonomics, perceived volume and perhaps most significantly, versatility.... the pluggable ports on the back and toggles that alter the responses of the 2 drivers effectively combine to give the user numerous distinctly different sounding configurations from the same box, all accessible in seconds....the only drawback is the home made aesthetic......which has grown on me.

Very interested. Like what I've been reading and the fact these sweet cabs are priced competitively.
Efficiency schma-ficiency.
Power is light and cheap now-a-days.
AK and Fearless are totally in another class than anything I’ve heard in a music store. Or anywhere else for that matter.

I probably would have bought a pair of these already, but I just never liked the look of ANY cab with those separate round grills. The cab would only be another inch deeper with a conventional recessed baffle board and standard full face grill.
I'll post here after I get them and of course after the first gig with them ;-)

I've discussed it with Duke in person and/or email numerous times. Keep in mind that he's the type who won't put a danged logo on his cabs because it adds cost and doesn't make them sound better.

I agree, but it's important for the casual buyer to know an Elf or MB200 won't necessarily do for these cabs what they might for an off the shelf cab with 3-6 dB higher sensitivity. IMO Duke's cabs are more than worth the requirement for your amp to be packing some extra horsepower, especially since as you mentioned lots of Watts are light and cheap these days.
I have had several 1x12 cabs (GK, EBS, Bergantino, Hartke). I think I like Bergantino AE112 the best...
True it is not attractive, also true, it sounds magnificent.
Perhaps weirdly, I like how it looks.
I want a small/light 12" cab just for home and small/acoustic gig use... I play an acoustic 5 string bass and want a clean, warm, rich sound that brings out the upright-like qualities.. Between the Mesa Subway 112 and the DNA DNS 112-N, which is going to get me closest to the sound I'm looking for? (I'm using a Trace Elliot AH250SMX head). I really wish I could find somewhere close to me with either cab (or ideally both) to try before I buy, but it doesn't appear anyone in/around Phoenix have either in stock.

No offense, but this question probably belongs in its own thread since your goals and those of the OP are not exactly the same. You'll probably get more responses that way as well.
This little brute, recovered sealed Ampeg Portabass 112, loaded with caste frame BW 12, punches way above it's weight class. You'd have to jump thru a few hoops to replicate this scenario but well worth the effort. Although you don't have to go thru recovery if you just want the benefit of the cab/ speaker.
