I've got a new song on my band's myspace page with the Valenti. It's unmixed at the moment but they wanted me to post it on the page since they said it was good enough to post. I think the bass is way too loud, plus there's still some punch in stuff we've got to do before we actually get this mastered. Listen to "No Matter What", since it's the only song full song on the page. The others are clips also recorded with my Valenti.

#80 is by far the best Valenti ever built.

I would have to agree. I seriously miss that bass (my shoulder does too). And in the end, I jumped the gun on selling it, as my worries, or reasons, for needing to sell it ended up working out just fine.

But, it went to a good guy, and I'm sure it's getting put to good use now.

Oh well. Sometime after Christmas, I'll hopefully be ordering a replacement (with a few minor changes) from Nino.

That is so seriously hot. Every time I check this thread, I GAS for a Valenti even more. I think after Christmas, I'm gonna pull the trigger on one. So hot.

Man, that bass is flat out classy looking. Love the gold hardware and that color was a great choice.

Nino has an aged white J bass with a Pau Ferro board at Bass Specialties in Philly. IBZ collector did a helluva a job on that thing. He didn't manage to knock Nino's considerable skills out of whack though, very cool bass!

I just started looking at Valenti's basses and I like what I see. That wenge neck four stringer is very intriguing. I would love to sit down with something like that for a while.
I'm interested in crossing the familiarity of a fender style with the Dry punchy sounding woods of a Warwick. Uh OH...I feel a custom bass gurgling in my belly...

I think I may have the only Valenti with that pick-up right now.....dunno for sure.
IMO, it grabs the MM tone dead nuts.
I have a Sadowsky pre-amp in mine and I feeel that with that pick-up and that pre-amp, it gets that pre-EBMM tone.

My pick-up up is in the exact MM location, which is key when you add a single coil with it- like mine has.

Lakland's MM pick-up is actually further back (closer to the bridge) than the MM position. They do that to place the two coils in the 70's/60's Jazz Bas positions, thus making the MM pick-up not quite "there".

If you're going the J/MM set-up, put that pick-up in the MM sweet spot.

The Nordstrand MM pick-up really does nail that sound.
