Hey Nino, quick question on the Nordy P pick-up in there.
Does it have to have the three pole piece coil on the B_E_A and the two pole piece coil on the D_G??
Are they wound for specifically for the strings?
Or can you switch them around for what ever reason??
They can be placed either way. I do it that way because, on a 4 string, the E and A are on the bass side and the D and G are on the treble side.

OK; here's my Geddy Vee:

It came to me with the original OBP3 (pictured) gone, and an audere in there. Which, I think, sucked with the Nord Big Singles.
So, I got one of Nordstrands new preamps and put in there. Which is freakin' stellar y'all!

But, now I have a control plate with two extra holes from the led and z-mode switch.

Is this a standard J control plate I can replace with one from allparts or bestbassgear or the likes?

thx-alan

very nice!
specs?
This bass was a bit of a project. The neck was sent to a luthier and I was not happy with the block on this one so it became my bass. The body was a neck that Tommy at USACG had that was already painted and the the top route was routed in the incorrect location (which is why it doesn't have a pickguard and why it's not black. LOL)

Maple neck/fretboard
Black Block inlays (no binding)
Swamp Ash Body
Trans White Finish
Black hardware
Nordstrand NJ5's w/70's wind
Aguilar OBP-1
A Style Bridge
Ultralite keys

Wow Nino, that's a beautiful bass. BTW, where'd you get the neck with blocks? Are you offering blocks now or is this a special neck for you only?
At this time the blocks are not available. This bass was one of 2 that I sent the neck to a luthier to install the blocks.

The turnaround time was more than 3x what was quoted and this neck did not meet my quality standards forcing me to keep it.

With the economic hardships, I'd really rather not keep a bass but I don't want to sell a bass I wasn't happy with. That's life, I guess.

nino,

i really admire your committment to quality. That IS the way to do business. good on ya.

however, have you considered putting a new neck on the bass and selling it? That trans-white finish is soo HOTT.
