The Valenti Megathread Part IV

Wow man, I can't believe how that finish came out, especially with the Birdseye board. I'm in tha camp that thinks it looks sweet with the ramp. What kinda pickups are those?

You guys are likely getting sick of seeing this build, but too bad. :p

Some more pics from Nino as it is just about done....

It weighs in at 7.9lbs including the ebony ramp that is about to be attached in the pic. I can't wait to play this thing.

Before anyone says it, I tend to agree that the bass looks better without the ramp. I have to choose functionality over looks though as I really love playing 5 string basses with ramps. All of my other 5ers have ramps and I am just used to it now.

Overall pretty "standard" and an homage to my Grandmother who just passed away and left me a little dough enabling me to get this bass. The color is for my Grandma's beautiful blue eyes. The pearloid guard for her nails and overall decor. I may change my mind and go for pearloid blocks with no binding but I'm not sure. I told my Sister about this and after I told her the colors she said "that's so Grandma" and I said "Exactly!".
I was going to go with Alder but Nino said the alder he's been getting lately has been pretty heavy and I'm looking for light. Going with a chambered body wasn't what I was after.
Pretty damn excited...now comes the hard part - the wait.
VMJ4
Swamp ash Body
Ice Blue Metallic with matching headstock
White Pearloid Pickguard
Graphite Reinforced Maple Neck
Pau Ferro Fretboard
1 1/2" nut width
HipShot UltraLite Tuning Keys
Hipshot B Style Bridge
Dunlop Strap Locks
Contoured Neck Heel
Sadowsky Preamp
Nordstrand NPJ4SE
