Verrazzano Series V21-J5
  • Alder body w/ maple neck
  • Rosewood Fretboard
  • Satin Shell Pink finish
  • Hipshot B bridge (will opt for an "L" bridge if available)
  • 18mm spacing at bridge
  • Aguilar Super Single pickups
  • Aguilar OBP-1 preamp w/ VTC
Haven't decided on what color pickguard I'll go with. Right now I'm leaning toward tort but may change my mind before it gets to me.

What does everyone think? Any p/g color suggestions?

I have an Aguilar P/J set + preamp in my Valenti. ...tremendous voice and range and nice choices between active & passive. I say go for it!

My experience with Valenti and some other high-quality builds is that a 34” B-string does not need to suffer. I’ve had 35” as well but I don’t feel the need now. ...and I’m someone who uses the B between the 5th & 10th fret extensively, so a seamless blend is critically important to me. I wasn’t always happy with 34” B’s on certain mass market basses but have no concern at all with 34” on the Valenti. Good luck with yours!

Good to know @TomB.. My bias against 34" 5ers stems from repeated disappointment from the mass produced side of things as well. I have faith in Nino and his basses (I should, this will be my fourth!), so I'm not going to sweat it.

I’m a big fan of pink. Looking forward to seeing a satin pink.

A matte black 3-ply pickguard could look sweet on this... and be a little different than the usual tort or mint green that most people get with Shell Pink.

A clear plexiglass pickguard could be cool, too! :laugh:
