Nino, watcha think?!?!!!!

The TB/MikeBass j/mm is getting closer!!
The neck is on it's way to you I guess as we speak!

no no no...

the headstock doesn't match the body...the body needs birdseye...send that body to me and get a birdseye body... :D :D :D

SWEET, mike...very very nice! J/MM...sweeter still!

+1! :hyper:

Soo...... WHEN???

I dunno.
I guess there is a hold up with the names being applied to the back or something like that.

Actually, the body looks a lot lighter than the neck/headstock, but it isn't.
I guess the finish is close from what Mike has told me.

I was hopeing for the GTG, but looks like it isn't gonna happen. :(
No biggie.
It will get here when it does, ya dig?!?

NICE!

How are you going to have it finished?

I am interested to hear about how the J/MM sounds.

EDIT: It looks like you are going natural with it. It will look great.

It actually has a finish on it in the pics.
If you look above the neck pocket you can see s bit of a glare on it.

But yes, natural.

And J/MM with a Sadowsky pre!!

Yeah, this bass has taken longer than I thought. :( I feel pretty bad about it too. Lots of scheduling delays, finding the right wood, more scheduling problems, etc...

I am hoping to have the signatures finally done on the body in a couple weeks. Then it is off to Nino to be built.

Sorry it has taken so long Mike.

Well, I had the pleasure of playing this one today as the (extremely happy) new owner and I were hangin' for a bit.

I was very surprised, even knowing how much all the TB cats dig Nino's work, at the quality, playability, and tone of this beast. It really is an insane bargain.

Nino, I salute you with the full band from the St. Patty's Day thread, complete with dancing monkey! Bravo!

Thank you very much.

why did you sell it?

I found the (Warmoth) neck to be too thick, especially in the lower register. My left hand would tire after playing it for a while. I noticed that a couple of Valenti owners had paid to have the necks of their basses modified by Michael Dolan, but ended up selling them anyway.

I would guess that the Warmoth neck profile was the main reason that Nino switched to USA for his parts.

While it's not perfect, I really like my Fender American Deluxe Precision V (which they have now discontinued). I wanted to create a bass with all of the aspects of that bass that I like, with some upgrades. The result (Valenti #23) is a great bass, but I still preferred the Fender.
