I like Jack White. I will now make a one man tribute band with a drum machine and my bass, no guitar.

Well, to be fair, they do have some bass on their recordings. I personally like The Black Keys a lot more anyways. I won't hate a band because they have no bassist though, if they can make it work. The White Stripes...well, Jack White anyway, is a respectable musician in my eyes, but he's better off without Meg anyways.

I like Jack. His playing has a ton of personality, feel and killer riffs. I think he's always done a great job of making one guitar sound like a whole band. I also think he's a great narrative songwriter.
I liked the white stripes, some of those guitar riffs would have been killer with some low end backing them up. I started my ear training learning some of their stuff.
I've heard they(BK's) are touring with a bassist now, but there is not a single studio musician, or anyone for that mater, credited with playing bass on any of their albums.
Perhaps he/she is just extremely modest
And I usually think bassist-less music sounds like some sort of project but not a finished product. Just my .02 and opinion. you are entitled toy yours and I'm entitled to mine.
I kinda put White Stripes in the same category as The Presidents of United States of America. A novelty.

Whatever Jack White does next will probably still sound like Jack White. Same stuff, different name.

Also, band without a bass player being talked about on a forum website exclusively dedicated to bass guitar, double bass, and musical issues relating to one of the two = huh?
