$3.00 to $3.50 is the going rate for bottled beer around here so that doesn't seem out of line at all. Unless you were commenting on the choice of beer as bottled water shouldn't cost $3.50.However many of our gigs will comp us one or two drinks per person per set which is nice. One even comps us on the food!
Def not out of line. In my part of the world, on a weekend, that would be considered - Inexpensive. I can only do better than that during the week. Weekends - I'm always paying more than that.
I used to live off Waters Ave right around the corner from the Veterans location, and used to go to the blues jam on MOnday nights at the Westshore one a few moons back. God I miss Tampa

I believe it! It's true that it was one of the biggest dives around then - now, not so much, just a loud rock bar. That was before my time in this neck o the woods...

At the Metro in Chicago in the 80's, the bar staff all had matching t shirts that said on the front 'I'm your bartender'.

I was called Jerry Springer by the female bartender in a biker bar. As in, "hey, Jerry Springer, come here". No idea what she's talking about.
The last time I went to a jam night I ended up as "Om Bule" on the receipt. "Bule" is the indonesian word for albino, which is also used to describe us white folk, and is sort of turned into a word to describe caucasian foreigners. "Om" means uncle. So, to the bar staff, I'm uncle white guy 
Which is funny because there's a younger expat there too who's called "Bro Bule" by the bar staff. I did ask them why he gets bro and I get uncle, and they explained it's because I'm older. It's all in good fun though.

I've mostly just played local gigs so far, and the owners and sound guys mostly know my name. When they don't, people usually call me "the short guy with the beard." I like it.
I've never gotten "Mr. Bass Man", but I have gotten "Bass". As in: "Hey, Bass, did you get your drink tickets?" Not even "Bass Player"... just "Bass".
