It'll be interesting how they handle this as his basketball program is a huge money maker for the school. Some of that money supports other programs and Title IX stuff.

Well all we know now is David Padgett is the new coach and Pitino released the statement about 4:30. He just thanked all of his players at the previous colleges he coached and apologized to the fans.
He also denied knowing anything about payments to any players of course.

So the only thing we know for sure he is gone.

They'll be looking for a new athletic director as well I'm sure.

I have no idea who they will get as a permanent coach.

And another thing that annoys me...

People who stop at choke points! :rollno:

You know what I mean.

You work in an office, someone comes in to talk to you for a moment or two, then, as they're leaving, they'll stand in the doorway another 10 minutes telling you additional things they forgot, but won't come back into the office.

Or you're walking down the street. The sidewalk is 10 feet wide, but right where there's a 100 year old tree which narrows the sidewalk down to 3 feet, this is where 2 people have to stop to chat! And they give you dirty looks as you excuse yourself to pass them! Grrr! :spit:

Why do people do this?

Have mercy on me, I'm getting old.

I was reminded of a fun one this weekend: people who follow you to your car in a parking lot in order to take your spot, then honk when you don't go fast enough.

I took my three kids to Chipotle this weekend. Just me and three kids, 2, 8 and 10. Right as we walk out, a woman races over to us, then follows us to the car. No sooner did I get the door open, but she "toots". I hadn't even gotten the two year old in his car seat yet. Before I got his harness tightened, she lets out a longer toot. When I looked at her, she throws up her hands, like she was shocked I was taking so long. As I walked over to her car to discuss her impatience, she decided that the empty spot two slots away was good enough....

The trend, usually found in advertising, of using a noun as a verb, as in “this is how you Sonic”, or “ this is how you office”(meaning ‘we’re making the judgement call on the manner in which you efficiently or properly conduct office tasks, with our products, of course’). Sure, it’s cute and edgy and all, but it’s still lame.
