Okay not to be nerd out but the blue brat has had a common axel swap that Scooby heads do so they can put on custom rims.

The original axel on older EA71s, EA81s, and EA82s had a wide 4 lug pattern that allows for only stock Subaru and Puegot rims to fit.

Looks like those a more modern STi OZ rims on there.

I think you're right. I remember riding to and from little league practice and games in the back of a truck. If you think about it, it's good that it's not allowed anymore. If the truck got into a crash, there'd be no protection! Sure was fun, though!
