Thinking of going Eden.. Thoughts?

210XST gets a LOT of low end for a 210

and it pairs very well with a 210XLT for the reasons stated above. I used to have that pair and wish I'd never let go - sort of the best modular 410 you could get. As to the head, I absolutely love my Navigator preamp with any one of a number of good power amps - like a WT800 with more muscle in the power section. I've had good experience with Edens every time, but you should definitely demo the gear. The asking price did sound high. You should be able to do better once cold reality sets in for your seller. I've been using Markbass, Genz Benz, GK, etc for a number of
years. All good. I just went to an Eden WT400 with my Epi and Berg boxes. The WT400 gives me a much more supportive sound than the other amps. The people I work with have mentioned it. It is a rather warm amp but I'm moving away from the more modern sound.

I agree, the price is a bit high. The value is with the WT400.
The 210xlt hasn't got near as much value. Somethng like $400or so for the head and $250 for the box seems a good deal.

It's not a terrible price, but probably about $100 high, assuming both to be in excellent condition.

$400 for each piece.....i hope you can get it for a $100 less...that would be a good deal.
but, as others have said, you will need another cab for band and gigs.

He will probably come down. In rebuttal, if you are like me, spending $800 for a rig, you would be hard pressed to come up with a better rig, and this one can probably be had for even less.

...not sure about Toronto, but around here the head does go for around $400 and the 210 at about $300-350. You should have a little bargaining power. Great gear; I had good results for years w/their 210's and will never part with my 410XLT.

I'm not meaning to open a "can of worms" here with this post but I have heard varying degrees of unsatisfied users of the recent Eden stuff.
I bought a mid '90's head used about 3 years ago and have had zero issues with it. It meets my needs for what I expect out of it, though the parametric EQ took a bit to get used to.

I bought a mid '90's head used about 3 years ago and have had zero issues with it. It meets my needs for what I expect out of it, though the parametric EQ took a bit to get used to.

A couple months ago, I bought a half stack and the choice of head was down to a Hartke lh500 and an eden WTX500. While the eden had more bells and whistles, it didn't have the punch that the Hartke had. Plus, Hartke just had "that sound". But lo and behold, the Hartke is just 2 months old and the passive input jack has conked out on me.

Those problems were mostly related to the WT1205.
The WT400 along with the WT800 are one of the best Eden Amps ever build. If you got a chance to get one take it!

The D210XST is a great cab. Very nice for recording and smaller gigs. I used this cab in combination with a D210XLT, D410XLT or D112XLT.

I have found through personal experience that both the cabs and heads are over rated on factory specs (like most companies). Just a heads up

Sent my wt550 head out to y repair tech (works for the same music store i do) almost a year ago just to have it checked out. He measured the output and at 4ohms it was around 300 watts. Quite lower than the advertised 500.

Thats funny. I had my WT550 at my tech for a problem recently and he was impressed with the power this amp puts out on the bench. He didn't give me a number but stated he was impressed with 4ohm and 2ohm loads. I forget the words he used exactly but was something like " that thing has brute power" .

The one thing I have noticed about my 550 is that it seems quiet until you hit noon on the gain and master (or close to that) after that the amp opens up. I have no problem keeping up with a full band with a 8ohm 210 but , when I have more speakers and a 4 or 2 ohm load it's loud, I've been asked to turn the f$&$ down loud.

There must have been something wrong for sure!
I measured several Eden on my bench and a lack of power was seldom the problem.

Eden metro, early 2000s if you can find one, I really like the responsiveness and warmth. Ive owned everything mesa, etc. and I prefer the Eden sound.
