I bought both the covers and rings from ebay seller Hailwood-Guitars. They're located in Germany. For the covers to fit just right, I had to sand the corners of each pickup. Luckily, I didn't mess anything up.

I like fenders.........the ones on my Subaru.

My tattoos (these are they only ones I have), it's a Thunderbird love affair :hyper:

That's cool maybe one day i won't be such a baby about tatts and get a bird maybe I could just do it myself haha the bird itself doesn't seem that complicated but yeah the only good fenders are on my car

That's the fleshy part of your arm........aside from your butt cheek it's one of the least painful places you could get a tattoo. :D

Pic of my Fenderbird. Picked this up Saturday July 14. I bought the body complete with all hardware from fellow talkbass member mrkev. The neck and machine heads was supplied by harrier guitars uk, neck ferrules by warman guitars uk and kgb guitars in Merseyside assembled it and set it up. i've got it wired with two volumes, two tones and a three way switch.

The pickups were on the body when I bought it. Barry, from kgb, commented on how powerful they are. This bass rings acoustically with lots of harmonic overtones. Sounds great through my hartke rig.

Get IT on you side. Hahahahaha.
I got my first tattoo there, 5hours of non stop realy bad pain damm but IT was worth it, its not a thunderbird logo.
The Nice thing about tatoos, IT stings a bit when you gett One. but after you gott one you you forget how it feels

thanks Mark For doing this. In a sense this bass is a combination of all my bass influences. I tried to combine the best bits from a Jim Lea influenced EB3 along with a big John Entwistle influence.

In a very short period of time in 1972, when I was 14, I bought "Slade alive", "The Who live at Leeds" and "Deep Purple Made in Japan". These 3 have always been my main influences. The sad death of Jon Lord has brought back many great memories of listening to this album.

I saw slade 13 times and they never failed to deliver a great show.

Yes, so am I. I had the pleasure of meeting the man on a number of occasions. If my memory serves me right I think you have one of Noddy Holder's HiWatt amplifiers and possibly you are also the person who has a replica James Lea bass?

Jimmy Lea was filmed using a hired Thunderbird bass in the video for "radio wall of sound".

The interesting thing for me is although Slade were not a huge commercial success inthe USA there are at least two Thunderbird bass club members who are also Slade fans!

Yes that is me I have a exact replica of Jimmys bass and one of Slade's nine Hiwatts mine happened to belong to Dave Hill. Bigstu also has a replica of Jims bass and he is the one with Noddys Hiwatt. Jimmy With my my bass
