Looks like it’s post a pic of your VP day today…

An unexpected solospot from last Saturday's bar gig but I did pretty well in my opinion. It seems the dreaded bass solo works better for the player if it doesn't read in the setlist.

The sound is atrocious but the guy who filmed it was pretty oiled at that time of the night. [This invalid link has been removed]

Good solo, the left channel was cutting in and out but you already know that.

Today's the day! I can finally share my review of the G2 Thunderbird done for The House of Guitars.

Funny I just came here to mention something about that bass, I got it in my email from Gibson. I really like it too, especially that binding, are those the regular TB+ T Bird pickups, ceramic? It sounds great and looks great.

Thanks man. And I the black VP you have. Just can't justify a third VP. Well, I can in my mind, but that's as far as it goes. All three VPs are and look fantastic. Closest thing you can get to a '60s without spending serious money on a boutique build. Try various strings. They do make a difference. I've got Roto 66s on the Burst and Boomers on the White. Some Flats even sound great on Thunderbirds.

I'm glad to say that the Daddario Pro Steels I put on my VP now sound and feel great after a month or two and a few gigs. I just might stick to them for a while.

I know a guy.... ;) @MCF who could use that.

Looks to have the same "issue" my burst had when I got it. No problems in several years.
If it wasn't a 90 minute drive I might have been tempted...once I figure in driving 180 miles round trip with a GMC Sierra SLT, it pretty much doubles the price

toobey Tues…..69 Leslie amp…the 6550 ones make stellar bass amps….

I once played this through my friend's Leslie. Sounded absolutely amazing.

Not at that occasion when the pic was taken 'though. Unfortunately. Would have filled the stage nicely with the sound (we played as a duo).

I haven't knowingly tried them, but think they were on the NR I just got (D'Add Steels according to the seller). I've yet to find anything from D'Add I like, but it's honestly been years and different rigs ago that I tried them. Whatever they were on the NR they kind of disappeared in a live setting and had no mid punch.

The hum is there with or without anything connected. Volume and EQ makes no impact. It is constant with no apparent cycle. I’ll try to figure out how to post the audio clip.

It couldn't be anything to do with the cab, is that old enough to have a polarity switch? You say you can't hear it when you play, is it just about audible or is it very apparent when you're not playing?

I have terrible rf interference in my basement. I realized it when I spent 3 weeks trying to get the him out of my friends son's V. I had switched out the pickups for him and rewired it. Could not get rid of the hum. Rewired it 10 times. Swappe out pots 3 times. Gave it back to him with my head hung low. My friend was like I have no idea what you are talking about. This is dead silent. Even with a Furman I still get hum with certain things. It's frustrating. I recently had to swap a single coil Bart out of one of my Spectors for the same reason. Time for a Faraday cage.

You should have an electrician check it, you could have some kind of low grade arcing going on could be a bad circuit breaker, loose wire in the breaker (fuse?) box, something like that, that's not normal.
