I would agree with Chucky (bias adjustment, I think he seems to know more than me anyway) but you said it was checked at a place by a pro who found nothing, that's what throws me.

Definitely audible when not playing. If I plug something in, it gets a little louder, but it is clearly audible with or without anything attached to the amp input.

That looks like a nice funky little place.

It's the best - CJ (owner) & I are renovating the decades-old neglected 100yr old facade. It's right off HW1.

Here's a cool pic of it in the early '50s.

We removed about 100lbs of surface material and got down to the original concrete.

CJ un-earthed the lettering that has been painted over for decades.

I have an old Marantz, 2385, the thing blows the doors open. Not mine but in the same shape, 240 WRMS/channel continous into 4 ohms. I use two pairs of large Advents with it, Grand Funk IS in the house when I play them.
