Thunderbird Club

Used asking prices are crazy right now. Two years ago, that would have been around $1200 to $1300. That one has a beautiful fretboard if the pictures are accurate.
I got the Flamingo for around $1k, but that was a while ago and it sure wasn't mint. I sure have spent a lot more on it to make sure it's value doesn't increase.

I can picture the sound guy saying, "Just had to bring not one, but two SVTs, did ya?

He knew, we used to blas...er play that place a lot. He had a surprisingly open mind for a sound guy, never complained, never told us to turn down (which probably would have been in everybody's best interest )

I can be more 'experimental' in the music I consume. I can listen to an artist I have never heard of without committing to buying an album...

I do the same with YouTube, I've bought a lot of albums because of YouTube, in fact I almost always check before I buy an album unless I'm sure of the artist. That makes me wonder why like for example the Hendrix estate takes his stuff down routinely. I've seen a lot of bands relent though over the past few years, McCartney bought his stuff back for example and all of a sudden The Beatles' music was back, Chet Baker's family made an account and allowed his stuff on etc. There are many full albums on YouTube now, I can remember not so long ago when you couldn't put videos in over 10 minutes long.
Rant over.

My daughter is stationed out of Logan. She says it isn’t all that bad. Have you ever flown to San Diego? Worst of all the major airports in the US.

I have probably flown out of SD 8 times and none of the flights were ever even close to leaving on time.

Just saw this Greco for sale in NYC on CL. No connection.

Same model and year as mine! Great basses!!

I had a satellite service on one of the cars for a while and it was interesting to hear some music that I otherwise would have likely never encountered. Then again there was a lot to give a reason to turn the radio off or change the channel. But somebody liked it.

I bought a lifetime subscription to SiriusXM in 2008 with a new car for 400 bucks when they were having a hard time, it's paid for itself over many times. I still use it online out here in Lima. I play along with it a lot, I have about 15 saved channels and can see what's playing on them all from the same page, if I don't like what's on I just change the channel. I still own the car but it needs some work.

These days, sound people don't know what a 360 stack is. Or most don't. They find out. If they crank the kick drum to.mud, I can fight back and still sound reasonably good even in a decent sized venue.

I never got to play out with one but from the live things I've heard they sound great, I did try one once in a rehearsal space but really didn't spend any time with it.
I did used to use Sunn 2000S cabs though years ago with a Marshall Major 200 watt head, those were also kind of long throw cabs, if you walked 10-20 ft out in front of them, you could feel the air hitting you, that set up used to earthquake every place we played.
