Thunderbird Club

In the interest of safety of my Thunderbirds, anyone know what kind serpent from hell this is? It was mostly black but when you get close you can see it has some pattern. At first I just thought it a black snake, but it's something else. It was about 3 1/2 ft. Silver bottom. It was looking to get a basement door to my Thunderbirds.

I'm sure I'd be absolutely no help whatsoever in id-ing your snake friend, but I'm not sure.......because I see only broken pics :(

Love that song - always have. (fuzz bass:thumbsup:) It was the first RS LP I bought when it was released. I still have a copy of it. Bill Wyman had the most distinctive playing style of any bass player then - playing his electric like an upright. And as was the fashion then - the first close-up on BW (AKA "the bass player") is at 3:47 into their set. Bill actually gets two close-ups playing and singing harmony during Time Is On My Side.

Love the all-star mayhem ending!

That's a great video, I've never seen it before although it's come up multiple times on my YouTube feed. I also noticed how Bill always picked right over the end of the neck. I've always loved their version of Around and Around too, the pattern Bill and Charlie play during the 2nd verse is interesting, Bill kind of answers Charlie's kick in the second verse rather than playing on the one, he stay right with he guitars, I also like how Charlie just plays the kick straight through right on the beat.
My first Stones album was 12 x 5, my parents bought it for me for Christmas along with a little record player and The Beatles Second album.

No pix-again.:(

Anyway, I went there and saw the familiar faces again, “Hey dude, long time no see, how are you?” and all that business, or as we say in my native tongue "Ouwe jongens krentenbrood" (Old guys, raisin bread.)

It's funny how some idiomatic expressions don't translate well into other languages, when someone here is not afraid to say something that someone else may not want to hear they say

"No tengo pelo en la lengua"

(I don't have hair on my tongue )

There is a doc I saw of Bill Wyman made a few years ago at a small theater here in SF. It's pretty interesting but probably mostly to bass players or hard-core RS's fans. :)

So I have been considering adding a couple of those vintagey leather geetar straps, and have almost bought some on a couple occasions. Just because I think they look cool.

I was gathering parts for the DC bird build and remembered I had some part in the garage..

While I found the parts I was looking for, I also found I already had two of those leather straps…

and after 5 minutes, I remembered why they were in a box in the garage…. that damn pad lookin sumbich slides all over the damn place.

Try Jack Straps. You can get then on Ebay. Awesome straps. The guy I bought my Spector NS4CR sells them. Awesome padded straps. Bunch of styles. He is on here. @rj1972. Sells them on Ebay and the Verb

Do you remember the title or have a link for it? Ever read his book, 'Stone Alone: The Story of a Rock'n'Roll Band'? He's got a memory like a steel trap.

I never got to play out with one but from the live things I've heard they sound great, I did try one once in a rehearsal space but really didn't spend any time with it.
I did used to use Sunn 2000S cabs though years ago with a Marshall Major 200 watt head, those were also kind of long throw cabs, if you walked 10-20 ft out in front of them, you could feel the air hitting you, that set up used to earthquake every place we played.
I play through them because it's what I know. I have been using ACC amps for more than 40 years now. Why change?

Straps - I haven't looked but there is probably a tb thread on them. For decades I had only one strap, like I had only one bass. Now.., I look at staps as neck-ties (an accessory I never need to incorporate but respect stylistically) matched to the bass. Not all, but many. I use Dunlop Strap-Loks so they are interchangeable... but these days not so much. :)

I have a book about him waiting in line on my Kindle.

A Wizard, A True Star-Todd Rundgren in the Studio

Excellent book!

If mic'ed what mic you prefer or what the soundmen offer for you? On stage from the port?
Have you used it in studio too?
