Thunderbird Club

I play through them because it's what I know. I have been using ACC amps for more than 40 years now. Why change?

I'm the same with SVT's, started using them about 1975.

Clearly, you're both wrong! :meh:

This, is the correct answer :D

.....at least for me....since, like, the (late) '80s & stuff ;)

Great choice. But this one didn't make the cut?

LOL - I’ll have to give that tune a run on BlingBird tomorrow.

That is weird. From what I read long ago, Gibson calls the taps “tone taps.” I don’t believe they function as splitting between double and single coil. But I don’t recall anything about the switches changing the wiring from series to parallel either. We could ask DeCola, but I’m not sure he’d give up any trade secrets.
Interesting. I think I recall the EB13 being listed as coil taps and I might have just assumed the 2015 bird was the same. I wonder, is there a detailed spec sheet for the 2013 EB (like the one you posted for the 2025 bird)?

Just saw this Greco for sale in NYC on CL. No connection.

Wow, glad I bought my Greco basses when I did. I paid about half that for my 1977 II and 1990 IV.

That's it - I loved the smell walking in... it smelled like an Italian restaurant! I briefly lived in Cincinnati (Camp Washington) right after that movie was made there.
Small world. About that time I was spending a lot of time in the Camp Washington and Clifton areas of Cincinnati. Did you play any venues there?

I think I found the answer…
The 2015 bird wiring looks like coil tap to me (vs parallel/series)..

…and it should be the same control and pup selections as the EB bass, which does in fact call out coil taps…

This..........was not an overly easy thing to re-arrange. :dead:
Why I do these sorts of things, for no apparent reason, is likely only known by whoever (whomever? :rollno: ) knows where all the missing socks have gone :meh:

Before

After

As you guys may remember, I'm not exactly short - the knobs on the pf350, hiding up on top, are now just a bit below eye level.....roughly 66" from the floor.
The measurement has a bit of a wide tolerance, due to the limitations of my measuring equipment

.......and my cat seems slightly confused by the change, per usual :roflmao:

Straps - I haven't looked but there is probably a tb thread on them. For decades I had only one strap, like I had only one bass. Now.., I look at staps as neck-ties (an accessory I never need to incorporate but respect stylistically) matched to the bass. Not all, but many. I use Dunlop Strap-Loks so they are interchangeable... but these days not so much. :)

But the tone! You need the right strap for your tone!

Not Hanna-Barbera style animation, at least not Jetsons or Flintstones.

It looks more like something from the Rocky and Bullwinkle show or Sherman and Peabody.
I thought it was a Flintstones ep.
One where there was a jazz scene going. Not sure if ‘the velvet fog’ or when Fred sings ‘When the Saints’.
Unless that’s the same episode?

I haven't seen one of those things for years, I have tried them a few times also, they were fairly common around Mass at some point, didn't they come with a cab with something like one 18" speaker along with two 10's? Mass has always been a big Ampeg state though for bass. They were made on the East Coast for a long time. Not many of those big amps around anymore. Like most places it's difficult to tell the bass amp from guitar amps nowadays onstage......sad state of affairs .

That's a great video, I've never seen it before although it's come up multiple times on my YouTube feed. I also noticed how Bill always picked right over the end of the neck. I've always loved their version of Around and Around too, the pattern Bill and Charlie play during the 2nd verse is interesting, Bill kind of answers Charlie's kick in the second verse rather than playing on the one, he stay right with he guitars, I also like how Charlie just plays the kick straight through right on the beat.
My first Stones album was 12 x 5, my parents bought it for me for Christmas along with a little record player and The Beatles Second album.
Bill did a great job of emulating the upright feel on the Chuck Berry tunes. I always go for that approach when playing that music.

Flintstones, Jetsons.., somewhere man ...

Will give a shot: Tom & Jerry.
As far as i know myself, won’t rest till I confirm this.

jumpin jeezuz on a pogo stick! that’s what I paid for my 21 NR’s and twice what I paid for my 88’ TB-70

I paid around $830 shipped from Japan so $1500 sounds like way too much.

I'm sure I'd be absolutely no help whatsoever in id-ing your snake friend, but I'm not sure.......because I see only broken pics :(

I haven't been able to see any of @dagrev pictures in about a week. Not even the nudes he sent us. He did send those to everyone, didn't he?
