.....at least for me....since, like, the (late) '80s & stuff ;)
Why must you keep reminding me how dumb I was to sell my Mark head..... I rocked that thing for many years with zero issues. Other than the bass player. He was a goof.

Hi folks! Today was first day playing with the band with the NR thunderbird , old dr strings pure blues setting, we played today aint no mountain high enough (bless mr James Jamerson) and the bass just was amazing in the mix with both pickups 100% and 10% tone, I had my head flip off my shoulders when I listen the low freq punch and a warm tone with lot of definition. This bass is amazing and very different, lot of personality.

Yah, I agree - I saw it at the Roxy theater when it debuted here in SF and they had a good crowd. It was a bit bass-player centric, but well done for anyone who likes the Stones and loves a good documentary. (as I do) It made me proud to be part of the family of bass-brothers/sisters, and especially because I'm sort of an amateur chronicle-izer of my own band as the bass-player. :)

I thought it was the most cohesive media I've ever read/seen on the Stone's history, I'm going to watch it again in a few minutes. I was also impressed with how humble Bill seems to be, especially that Ray Charles story.

Leave it alone. It wants nothing to do with you and also takes care of rodents for you.
In theory I know this is true. But I can take care of the rodents and live with the few I haven't addressed yet! Snakes...I don't even want to see. We have plenty of moles behind the yard, so they need to stay back there and eat all they want of that endless supply.

Used the NR again this week with SS 66s. Sounded as good as the Nickel 66s. Oddly enough there was little noticeable difference. Normally 66s let you know they are on a bass. I even pushed the high button on the Ampeg head. I'm not sure why the bass seems to not produce highs, but I'm going to get the PUPs as close to the strings as I possibly can. Not a complaint really, just a surprising observation. I'm still temped to go flats on this one. But the 66s (either) may be "the" string. Very happy with the sound.

A former drummer said he loved the looks. Thought it was incredible. I agree.

Such a beautiful bass in Burgundy Red!

I would strongly suggest having one made custom using your original as a template, no off the shelf version will fit your bass - There's no crossover of PGs one Thunderbirds, even Gibson over the years has changed the shape and screw pattern.
meantime post us a picture of that cool new bass so I can give you a club number and a formal welcome ;)

Here is a bad pic of an amazing bass
I love it, killer tone, need to get used to the shape but loving everything about it

Can I get a number ? :)
