Hey all I was just getting ready to pull the pin an buy a new Epi Vintage Pro when a buddy sent me a CL listing for a 2013 IV Sunburst in mint condition. I know the Vintage is a better instrument but I can get this IV for 300 and it really is mint. Is the Vintage worth the extra 500? I was ready to spend it but now I'm wondering.
I can't compare to a VP, but my 2018 IV isn't quite as "rich" sounding as my early 2014 CP, which is supposed to have modern Gibson pickups. Maybe someday I will add a Black VP since I have tobacco burst and white currently.I've had 2 Epi IV's and both of them sounded thin to me compared to my modern Gibsons. I haven't had a VP but some here who's opinions I respect have said that the VP pups sound better than the modern Gibson pups.

I just pulled the trigger on the VP. I know me and I would always be wondering how the VP would have felt and sounded. Should be here on Thursday!I've had 2 Epi IV's and both of them sounded thin to me compared to my modern Gibsons. Yep... character.
Didn´t remember the right word
He´s funny.
A born inventor; builds basses, guitars and everything else, usually in unconventional designs.
I think he spends most of his time brainstorming what to invent.
For example this: just checked out his Instagram (it's been a while since I've accessed for months)

I think a trip to Washington is in order for you!
The real Washington - Not that one!![]()
Maybe. I have one and have had a couple IVs over the years. A VP is much more like a Gibson, except with different pickups, a bigger headstock, and some other differences. Both have polyurethane finishes. An IV is likely to have a much bigger neck. Not all are the same.Hey all I was just getting ready to pull the pin an buy a new Epi Vintage Pro when a buddy sent me a CL listing for a 2013 IV Sunburst in mint condition. You sir are a bad influence LOL. I have too many basses (Yeah I know that really isn't a problem) as it is two T'birds isn't going to help that!
Between the two, I’d recommend the VP. Used ones are fairly easy to find and might save you a bit of cash. My experience with the Eppi IV is it’s a bit thin on the bottom end. The CP (now discontinued) is a great Bird if you can find one, very modern Gibson Tbird sounding, full, deep rich tone for days. The VP is going to sound much more like the very coveted 1960’s vintage Tbird and is a phenomenally great bass at its typical new or used asking prices.Hey all I was just getting ready to pull the pin an buy a new Epi Vintage Pro when a buddy sent me a CL listing for a 2013 IV Sunburst in mint condition. Ya done good! So which flavor did you get - white, black or burst? Be sure to post a pic when it arrives, we all love to see a shiny new Tbird.I just pulled the trigger on the VP. I know me and I would always be wondering how the VP would have felt and sounded. Should be here on Thursday!
