Thunderbird Club

I'm not positive I have tried any stainless strings, but I really liked the extra light SIT nickle.

I even have 2 fretted basses with roundwounds on em....

I kept the factory strings on my 4003AC, and on one of my Embassy'seses

are any factory strings stainless?
I think what came on Epi VPs was some kind of SS string. I think. Other than that it seems most everyone uses NPS.

Tried another set of under the radar strings on the NR and I'm pretty sure these are it. I was playing and enjoying what I was hearing and not thinking of which EQ adjustment to make. I switched my mid setting to #5 setting (3kHz) with slight boost and I was liking what I was hearing.

I don't know if anyone here as heard of these before or not.

It was from reading positive reviews of SITs here that I decided to try a set of Power Flats. So far still happy.
('happy' being a relative term in my world)

I'm no more curious about SIT flats. Nothing "needs" a new set anything and at the price of flats....

Sorry about The Lightening. Didn't end how I wanted either.

With certain of my Birds these are really THE CHOICE strings to use, they have a strong mid presence that works quite well on some of my Birds. I didn't care for them on my '76s as that pickup design just makes so much Bass and lo mid that I lost definition.

Agree. I perceive there is also a tightness in the lows that keep them from becoming boomy or ill-defined. Beefy, solid with pleasant clarity. The three basses I've tried them on were the '06 Thunderbird, '71 Jazz (which lost it's set!) and now the NR and all were great matches.

Yeah, some weird guy from NYC was recommending these. I should check them out.

I have them on my '89, Jackson and Lull IIRC, they're fantastic on the '89. They were way too much for the Greco though, again the pickup on that bass produces so much bass and lo mid in addition to being very hot that the combination was just too much.

 It's kinda funny. I'm not a big fan of the "cherry" of my EB-0, but I love the "Sparkling Burgundy" of the 2021 NRs. Just enuff difference-for me.

I like this cherry, in fact I think that was the first thing that caught my eye, many of them are darker, maybe this is faded (1970) but I think it's really pretty.:
