Thunderbird Club

Tried another set of under the radar strings on the NR and I'm pretty sure these are it. I was playing and enjoying what I was hearing and not thinking of which EQ adjustment to make. I switched my mid setting to #5 setting (3kHz) with slight boost and I was liking what I was hearing.

I don't know if anyone here as heard of these before or not.

I have. Actually, they've been around for... well, not a long time (AFAIK), but long enough to be one of the companies that makes the factory strings your new Rickenbacker wears. Along with D'Addario... Their flats are one of the handful of brands that I haven't tried in all the years I've been playing flats. But, now that I have my new Experimental Flat Wound Testing Device (ie., a new bass I bought for this very task - and because it was kinda cool, of course), I will give them a try. Reports over on the Strings Forum are pretty positive about SIT strings...

They are great strings. Used to come on G&Ls. Never tried their flats, which seem interesting and mean I will at some point.

Gorgeous.

(I should also shoot a clearer pic)

I buy 6-packs. The one thing I hate about SIT is their packaging. I find it makes changing strings super annoying.
Fret Nation has them for <$16 a set. Seems a steal. Where do you get your's from, if you don't mind me asking? I'll likely get a couple sets tonight, but six sets would be more than I would need and last a long time. And yes, their packaging is difficult to get used to. I can't figure out the plan they are going for with that.

I get them from Fret Nation.

I like this cherry, in fact I think that was the first thing that caught my eye, many of them are darker, maybe this is faded (1970) but I think it's really pretty.:
