Not quite. I played guitar right-handed in my teens. Never really stuck with it. Later on in life a friend needed a bass player for his new band and let me re-learn on the job. He was going to loan me one of his basses, but when I flipped it upside down, it felt way more natural, so I got a left-handed bass.

It is great seeing the pictures of the GTG for those of us who could not attend.

The picture of Jio playing the Jackson Bird needs colour correcting; the green Bird looks blue. Or perhaps all the other pictures of it need colour correcting to make it appear the correct shade of blue...

Yep, that is why added the "but" afterwards. The two situations may not be comparable.

Beside Jio's right elbow, it looks like there are good samples of C and M, but I can't tell if there is a Y sample. If there were, it appears that the correction is a decrease in Y. But examining the bass, it may be a surfeit of C.

I have no idea how the code runs/decides. In scanning negatives, I learned that I needed to find good places in pictures to set for white balance.

There wasn't anything else quite like a Who concert. Glad I got to see them twice. Wish I hadn't been so stoned. But still, what I recall was off the chain.

If I were in a Who cover band, I'd have use for the angry piano sound!

I only saw them once. I wasn't stoned. They were pretty drunk, or at least so it seemed. It was the same tour where people were trampled in Ohio somewhere. The vendors were ready with "I survived a Who concert" t-shirts. My money all went on the tickets (yeah, I took a girl and it was wasted on her).

Thanks! I leave nearby a great luthier called McGibney Guitars who gave me a great deal on this one when the original build requester went through financial trouble.

It's all normal gibson burst thunderbird specs, aside from having firebird style pickups instead of thunderbirds. (Apparently the vintage-style covers were impossible to get a few years back). It's way brighter than you'd think for a tbird, and it has a very 60's jazz style carve to the neck. Omega bridge as well.

Then Matt put a respray-style goldtop finish on it, which I guess he sourced from the Heritage/Kalamazoo provider to get the true goldtop color. It definitely is a unique color, although hard to capture. It's reliced (sorry) but I think Matt is potentially one of the best realistic relicers in the business.

That's a very strange Thunderbird, center is painted? If not, it doesn't appear to be 9 ply. Pickup spacing is a bit strange too.

It might be a cap. If the pickup was moved, the cap would hide the hole where it was to begin with. I'm guessing that's what we are looking at.

that’s a tough one, I’m a lefty playing righty and always thought the dominant hand should be the plucking hand….could be wrong but I believe it has handicapped my fingerstyle somewhat but then again, this may just be a subjective perception….who knows..
