Pretty cool, in VGC, a good price and a "Handsomely Sculpted Guitar"... but I just bought a bass! Just noticed that the back of the hs has "Made In USA" stamped on it...

Also of note - both body & neck are mahogany. I'm already getting on modding it - ordered 6 guitar (smaller) tuners for the 4 thinner strings. I have a feeling it's going to be a neck-diver.

@MCF that Peavey bass fell through. The guy gave me 12 hours notice to drive 120 miles round trip in commute traffic to meet him at 8am the next morning. I asked how long he would be there and the smart arse said 1 minute. Post now says sold. Too good to be true? Likely.

As I further consider the genius of my parsing of hardware and accessories, I realize that I can call anything that isn't the bass accessories. So, accessories includes (but not limited to) cords, wireless, pedals, amps, cabinets...

I find this intuitively attractive as I need only decide if something is a bass and if not, it is an accessory. Nice and simple; like me.

And I can go a step further.
Drums - accessory
Guitar - accessory
Keyboard player - accessory

I like it! Simplifies everything.

Money to buy gear - accessory

I just use the fabric-wrap method - easy peasy.

I did that for years with no issues, then one day I tried to remove the speed knob on my Eppi guitar. The pot shaft came off with the knob. Probably a fluke, only happened once, but to be safe I switched to the knob puller where I have good view of the knob to make sure nothing else is happening that could be a problem.

Always willing to show off this bass! I had that exact L2K in the early 2000s (must've been a US model?) and sold it because it was too complicated for me. I do wish I had kept it, these days.

Well, I haven't been here since Monday and only missed 30 pages this time.

I missed Friday and yesterday. Still catching up.

I suspect that the tragic failure would have happened no matter what method was used. Probably a defective potentiometer (which is an accessory).

I can think of one trombone player that deserves a well timed cranial-VP headstock interaction. Or the Casady headstock. That’s also fairly massive.

Giving this a little thought, I think that a pickguard is an accessory. It makes no difference in tone and is just a cosmetic accessory.

I usually hate the stupid polls in the GP. But post a hardware vs accessory poll about pickguards and I’ll participate.
