I'm giving up on catching up on my missed posts...

Did I miss some excitement??
Threats from a mod about being off topic...but then he spent about a dozen posts talking to us about motorcycles...:meh:

Oh, and @WillyW stole one of your pictures and tried to claim it was a picture of him :p

Thanks for the feedback.

As for the numbers, the gold is more difficult to see, but I almost always set everything on 10 and if I roll the bridge back, I do it till it sounds right. Mostly. Or it's off.
And that is why you need knobs that go to eleven.

Sure looks cool.
Be very curious on your thoughts once it's in your hands.

Sweet Chibson! Given they don’t show the front of the headstock, it will likely have a Gibson logo on it.
I haven’t seen that bridge before.

I didn't even notice the hs face wasn't pictured - you're probably right... oh well... And yah, that bridge looks serious - maybe it will be high-mass/heavy enough to fight neck-dive! (especially with 8 tuners) Having always been curious about playing an 8-string bass, the price of admission was low enough so that even if I have fun with it for a while and grow tired of it - I can always re-sell it and not lose money. It looks decent in the pics.

It'll be the second SG-style bass I've owned - my second bass bought new was a '68 EB-3 in '71. (NOS) Not mine - I wanted brown, but mine had the cherry finish.., which I stripped off.., and de-fretted...

My only pic of it - a test-strip image, shot in the Kansas City Art Institute dorm bathroom when I was a freshman. I wonder if it's been refinished in cherry and re-fretted! :) I still have the bridge cover!

I originally said black. My inclination is to stay with that decision, but the gold does look pretty sharp in those pics, maybe because the chrome bridge in the pic has a gold tint to it from the lighting or reflection.

Heck, the bridge and tuners are probably worth more than that. Looks very cool! Keep us posted on how you like it once it arrives.

I will! :bassist: - it was an impulse purchase (not really something I normally do) but it'll be fun to play. May take awhile to get here - they posted Sept 20-Oct 14th.

I was about to type "Let me know if you want to sell the bridge cover" thinking that would be cool for my 68 EBO, but looking at my bass, it never had a bridge cover. I picked up a handrest (calling it that because it doesn't cover anything) locally last year. It looks like this - my bass is far more worn and doesn't have the mute:

If I got persnickety every time a club thread went off topic, I wouldn't have time to take out the trash between issuing infractions. It was the particulars that were unfortunate. Go ahead and talk about crockery, omelettes, traffic signals in Singapore, best paint color for metal, I don't care.

Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome, y'all. Don't worry, don't worry; I can see myself out.
