Thunderbird Club

I'm pretty sure this is where I mutter something about not actually playing bass. I used to (not well, but that hardly seems to be a barrier for entry on this website) but I'm on severe medical restrictions for at least a few more months. It's possible that switching to lefty would be ok, and who knows, I'm a bad enough player that it might not make much difference. I'm pretty sure that I don't at this moment need another bass since there are already two hanging neglected on my wall.

As for housekeeping, if I had a quarter for every time I moved a pickguard thread from Accessories to Hardware....
I'm really sorry to hear about your medical issues. I don't even have that as an excuse for bad playing. I hope you can get back at it. Being good is beside the point unless you are getting paid to be good. It's about bass being part of enjoying life, and for that reason, I hope you can derive some enjoyment from it before too long.

Probably sounded awful and you were clearly fighting significant neck dive. :smug:

Sound please. We need sound if you're going to rock that 'bird like that.

Believe it or not, my wife shot two partial clips. One of me on the t-bird, where she stopped it pretty much as I started playing (long guitar intro). And then the other was on my L-1000.

Then there's this clip, only 15 sec, but hopefully you can hear it.

None of that prevents you from getting a Thunderbird and joining us. Musical ability is not a prerequisite. Being a little off plumb is.

Did a gig tonight(Friday) at a local VFW. Played the Les Paul 5er just for S&G and to give the 67NR a rest. Next scheduled gig 8/27. That's enuff rest. Back to the "A" bass.

Nice! Thanks for posting the clip. Always great to see people here playing, even if for a few seconds. How about a pic of your L1k? G&Ls are fantastic, just not Thunderbird fantastic.
Just ran across a pic of one I should have kept. The other two I'm keeping.

Always willing to show off this bass! I had that exact L2K in the early 2000s (must've been a US model?) and sold it because it was too complicated for me. I do wish I had kept it, these days.

 I think I remember you posting that before. I bet it sounds great. Those pickups are monsters even in passive mode, which is about all I use.

I believe my blueburst was a '05. It had a wider neck than I would normally prefer if I had a choice, but played great and was a joy to play.
