Thunderbird Club

It still is ruining things. My Motown band just can’t get a break. Different members keep catching Covid and we haven’t been able to get together.
That sucks. I think a lot of us have had similar situations. I missed out on a tour because of the pandemic. We were supposed to start just as everything shut down. And we were going to play one of my bucket list places in NYC.

So you’ve permanently attached an accessory to the hardware on your bass.

Where it really starts to get tricky is on my Dano. On that bass the strap pins are plastic. Kinda hard to call a plastic piece “Hardware” but I do since it should have been metal not plastic and if I were going to use it, it would be replaced by a metal strap lock.
Ah! But is it a hard or soft plastic?

Not that I want to be negative, but I think it’s going to be a tough winter. I’m trying to get as much playing with other people in as I can this summer.

It’s a little bit of everything…

Kind of a Ric bridge, Grabber pick guard, Eppi knobs, Fender Tele neck pup, P bass Bridge pup, EB tone dial, Tbird wood and color…
Looks like the bridge is a faithful copy of the Ric part, including tail lift:laugh:
That fingerboard is barely above the pickguard!

I can think of one trombone player that deserves a well timed cranial-VP headstock interaction. Or the Casady headstock. That’s also fairly massive.
I find that Thunderbird headstocks are selective and strategic about cranial and other kinds of disciplinary impaction. The Precision just whacks everything within range.

Not liking so much as sympathizing. My favorite band to play in slowly came apart during the pandemic. There were a lot of other reasons for that, despite efforts to keep it going. The reasons were mostly not pandemic related, but I am convinced that shows would have gotten us past most of those issues.

That's for Saul. Marshall's not a cheat.
Saul doesn't chase ambulances. He defends drug dealers and public m********s.

Based on the commercials I see on Buffalo TV, there seems to be a big market for ambulance chasers. Class action suits can also be quite lucrative for the representing attorney(s) - maybe a class action against Gibson for all those injured by flying Thunderbird headstocks...

I’ve worked the plaintiff’s side. One out of every five claims are legit. No thanks. People are always looking to scam. Not for me.
I can understand that. Much like criminal defense. Of course, we must be thankful that there are those that do take those cases as everyone is entitled to competent representation regardless of how reprehensible they may be.
