Thunderbird Club

Tone is in the headstock ;) that's why birds with big headstocks sound better. My friend who builds classical instruments and performs in the RPO and plays electric as well concurs with this theory.
Hmmm... tone headstock. Do larger tuning machines improve tone as well? Tone tuners?

Black I think, or black/white/black 3 layer (what’s that called?). The other one that seems popular is the mint colour. I do like gold anodised but generally would default to white or white pearl - I’m a bit horrified by the colour change on yours.

I like that! Get I get it in accordion?

The last time an agent came to the door I just answered “I’d want at least a million” and they didn’t blink “We can do that”. Ok then…. Paused to think…. “Not for a few years, bye”
As long as they agree to take it as is, a million would be fine for mine. The pool needs to be redecked and replastered, the lawns need to be resodded, and the back patio roof needs to be redone, including the underside where there is some leak damage. The joys of owning a twenty five year old house.

Is this large enough?

Quite possibly, mass affects vibration. Leo Fender was aware of this and used a small C clamp on the headstock to tune out dead spots to demonstrate this.

wording’s right on the money Donnie, exactly what happens….filter caps drain their charge….on many amps (not all) if you want it to happen faster you hit the low E, let it ring and then hit the standby to the off position…
Well that explains why years ago a guitar player I played with some would hit a low chord turn the amp off or standby, I don't recall which. But he was the only one I recall doing that. I only used SS then so never gave it much thought.

Thanks Geoff. I like black and white on a lot of basses, but I don't think so on this Pbass for some reason. Too much white maybe since the guard is kind of large. The black guard I have is a 3 layer, so that will break it up a bit. I always wished there were more basses without the pick guard. Painted basses likely need them more often for some visual interest.

I may be only US citizen who's never seen The Exorcist, so I gots no idea. I, however, have been known to blast a scam caller's eardrums with my conch shell.:smug:
I saw it with some HS friends in the late 70s. We were well "hydrated" and likely herbed up so we laughed like it was Blazing Saddles. Horror movies don't interest me so that's one of about two I've seen. (Not counting the old black and white movies.)

Whistles are great as well.;)

Where’s Jeff when you need him?

I ran across this refinished 76 Bird on eBay. Interesting choice for a refin.

Huh. I would be all over that even in its current atrocious state. Assuming it goes for 2k, add a Pat Wilkins refinish for about $750, that’s still below what Bicentennials seem to be going for.

The band I play in just released a first single and video today. Digitally only as it is usually these days. The track was played on my Telecaster but I used the non-reverse in the video as it looked better and fitted the color scheme of my clothes (not that I'm a very colorful dresser anyway...). The title of a song means "A fellow with wings" if translated literally so a 'bird was needed.

Hyvin soitettu hieno biisi!

My thought as well. Could be a decent buy for someone who wants a player that sounds good and not a collector’s item.
