Yep.Since the Music Man is my first tube amp, is it normal for it to take 15-30 seconds before you get the volume expected from the settings?

Up here they might come up with it. I used to ask for ten million. One guy asked why I thought it was worth that much. I told him it was because I didn't want to sell it to him and hung up. Now I just hang up when I hear "your property." No point in wasting time, and I am long since done worrying about being rude to persistent time waster calls. The worst are the calls wanting to buy my house. I started telling them if they come up with a million cash within 24 hours, the place is theirs. The responses are pretty rude. And I’m ruder.
speaker pop….5 secs should be long enough..One more standby question. When shutting down is there a reason to go back to standby for a bit before killing the power?
Follow what Chuck says. He clearly knows his stuff and gives solid information (when he's not out in the hills playing with some kind of death-ray machine). Does the light change color? On two of my Ampegs, the standby light will go back to red after about 10 seconds or so, then I turn them off. If I turn off before that they will make light crackling or buzzing sound. It's been a while so I can't recall exactly. I'm not sure if it hurts to go fast, but I always let some of the power drain out (my wording, not likely what happens), first. I figure anything you can do to ease the heating up and cooling down helps the tubes last a bit longer. One more standby question. wording’s right on the money Donnie, exactly what happens….filter caps drain their charge….on many amps (not all) if you want it to happen faster you hit the low E, let it ring and then hit the standby to the off position…Follow what Chuck says. too vintage for modern frills like that…..those are some of the warmest bass rigs I’ve ever heard…..you scored picha…No standby lights on the MM.
Black I think, or black/white/black 3 layer (what’s that called?). The other one that seems popular is the mint colour. I do like gold anodised but generally would default to white or white pearl - I’m a bit horrified by the colour change on yours.Oh, no worries. I had forgotten myself that you didn't comment on the VP option and confused the two when I posted. I never recall doing much changing, but I fully agree with you that it can add just a little touch of spice to an instrument. Not that noticeable, but adds to the bigger picture.
You obviously have a good eye for these kinds of things and I wonder what your thoughts would be about this Pbass. The mother of toilet seat pick guard I put on it years ago has turned to an unpleasant yellow look. I was thinking of going with a late 50s gold and gold anodized aluminum pick guard. While I I'm really like black and white in that tuxedo look, white just doesn't seem to click for me here. It came with a black pick guard and that just doesn't do much for me either.

Now that I look at it, the black doesn't look that bad. Thoughts welcome.

I may be only US citizen who's never seen The Exorcist, so I gots no idea. I, however, have been known to blast a scam caller's eardrums with my conch shell.I know which one I thought of first. That would be brutal.

Many of us in Thunderbird Nation don't like tort. When the PG cracked on my 67, I had this made. It's called "Mica".To each their own, I personally like them.
Does it fit?Yes, and just was told what to do with it![]()
Yeah, I was bustin' my "A" today(or are we discussing sumpin' different?).
Reclining?Same with my last string break. Aggressively popping the G in the final song of the last set. Just had to play the rest of the song in a different position.

Reminds me of a Portuguese Man-o'-war.I'm trying this on my current build - it's a fuzz cap and very blue. I'm wiring it to the push-pull tone pot.

So my technique of splashing the tubes/valves with ice water is a bad idea?Follow what Chuck says.
