Thunderbird Club

Finally received an update last night (only 9 days after it supposedly departed Dubai) that it had been processed through Sydney airport (not sure if that means it's cleared customs or whatever). Hopefully it will arrive today or tomorrow. No bloody idea where the TC Corona Chorus pedal has escaped to (what was I saying about taste, or the lack thereof?). Maybe they'll arrive together.

I'm hoping it cops a reasonable SVT tone.

Stay tuned.
Ugh! That is frustrating. I am always like a kid when I impatiently wait for those kinds of new "toys". I will be looking forward to your review and to hear about how it helps you to "cut through the mix"!;)

Day... 8 is it? Pics are running thin, but someone's gotta keep it going. Artsy fartsy shot of the newly chromed G&L-bird.

Thought that was quite subtle - only insulting if you know it is.

As was said, much of the 'problem' is an obsession with 'cutting through' a mix, rather than blending into a seamless whole - musicians should serve the music, the music ain't there to serve the musicians, and anyone who thinks otherwise is likely a very high score on the bell-end scale.

One thing people never seem to talk about much - and a word you never hear these days - is *taste*. Probably my favourite guitarist (apart from that honorary son of the Geordie Nation J M Hendrix, who like D G Bradman - that's cricket you barbarians - really needs to be in a category all by himself) is Mike Campbell. And one of the highest accolades one can give Campbell is he's never played an *unnecessary* note.

There are ('famous') bass players who are idolised on TB (not mentioning any names) about whom the same cannot be said - ie they peddle the worst in clanky soulless, empty, narcissistic 'lead bass' bollox, and frankly are fvcking sh1te.

Just saying like.

Sorry, not getting it. Tell us what you really think.;)

My Cat Child Latifa.

She was a stray, hanging around my work, the staff and I started feeding her as it became apart that she was on her own. It took months to catch her, she cried that sad meow cats do upon being put in a carrier to take her home. She hid underneath the utility room sink for a week or so, only coming out cautiously to eat. I caught her again for a trip to vet which included a microchip. It's been about a year and half now that she's been my house kitty, it's taken awhile but her true self has come thru, she's really an affectionate sweetheart, I'm unashamed to say I love her! She often sits in the front window waiting for me to come home from work and is always there to greet me as I come through the door.

This is the earliest photo of The Nasty Habits playing out in public, we're at a sweaty bar in Pt Angeles WA. called "The Crazy Fish", I have no idea what song we're playing (you can see the headstock of my white '89) but the crowd is having a great time - There's one girl looking at the camera with a huge smile on her face - I love that.

And I thought you were going to comment on my slate floor since it's laid on 45 degrees :roflmao:

I have no idea *** I was playing here, anything past the moneys is usually "the undiscovered country"

I like going up there- those places on the neck where you get that nice, sustaining, low-mid-hollering "HOOOOM" sound. The rare, nimbly-like passages that dive back down to the depths are great, hilarious fun... short skirts or no short skirts!

Well, ok. The skirts win...

Bizarre photo, it's like the crowd have been frozen in time and she is walking through them

The current advert on this page for reverb.com is highlighting a Gibson Les Paul Standard for $464,313.38 - yeah like that's going to get played!

It's a way to illustrate how we are all below the moneyed elite who could buy this as an 'investment'. My response; f--k them and the horse they rode in on.

keep on rocking' in the free world :bassist:

Hell yes! Nice! THAT looks like a fun show:)

Yeah! My kinda music, very nice indeed.

Thanks guys! :)

It was a fun job - We were totally on fire that night, and those two songs were the opening songs... :)

Unfortunately the gig was very poorly advertised and there was another event going on the same night - So attendence was extremely low...

Our singer was a little disillusioned because of this, before we took the stage. But I had just made a backstage peptalk about how the people that did show up, were there for us and paid to see us. So they should have the best possible performance - The band was on fire after that and we had a great party on stage... ;)

The venue, soundsystem and soundguy was great, there was seriously great catering and we got paid - So everything was cool.
