Thunderbird Club

There's few things I haven't heard of in while.

Which reminds me...

Killer album, by the way.

I babysat once for a friend years ago who waited tables at Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom in Atlanta. She was supposed to get home by 2AM, but it was after 6AM when she got home. I was on the living room floor sound asleep. Turned out Johnny was playing that night. After his show, he came over to her section to hang out. He had a big briefcase full of illicit stuff; she wasn't even sure about half of what she'd done. I was impressed she'd found her way home. Apparently that was his MO. I'm impressed the cat lasted all those years.

I saw the brothers each once, but not together, at the Atlanta Civic Center. Both great acts, although Deringer (with Edgar) was messing with the crowd, just playing a scale, then pausing, playing a scale, then pausing, with lots of showmanship, as if it were some great solo. And the thing was, being stoned out of my gourd, it *was*. At least until reality got through my friend's fog and he pointed it out. Rick redeemed himself soon after, but for a moment I thought he was a total poser.

Bofem were at the "Atlanta Pot Feast...er, Pop Festival" in 69. I caught part of them but also crashed and missed a few acts. Gotta sleep(in my Volvo PV544)sometime.

@JIO interesting development with your friends at FedEx…
FedEx Ground delivery network 'on the brink of COLLAPSE' as $54bn conglomerate 'refusing to act' | Daily Mail Online
I wasn't aware they used contract ground delivery services. Might help explain why you got so much runaround on your botched delivery from Pat Wilkins. The article certainly raises a bit of caution in using them for any valuable shipments until they sort things out.

They did finally 'honor' the (underinsured) insurance claim after many back & forth's - but they stlll leave things in plain view for porch-pirates to see/steal. Basically they don't give a shït.

No BFD. 4 years Navy, I got used to 24 hour time. And it makes for fewer misunderstandings.

I've gotten familiar with it as a cyclist - international reference including kilometers. I just dropped the ball.

I would so love to try one of those. (And other similar gizmos.)

That thing was pretty expensive, it was three or four hundred bucks when I bought it at least five or ten years ago, but it doesn't lose any bottom at all which is why I wanted it. You can even get an almost dead-on Mel Schacher grind out of it. They still make them I believe.

I really liked the Eminence until I replaced it with the D-140R - night & day.

Yes, night and day, clearer, louder and able to handle the full 60 watts in that cab, I never really liked stock B-15 speakers, heresy I know. B-15S's are surprisingly loud and surprisingly heavy. I have a B-18 with an original Goodman's 18" in it, that speaker sounds unbelievable, it's almost as clear as the JBL.
