Thunderbird Club

Today is my 38th anniversary with the current wife (she hates it when I say current). She’s obviously a keeper and very supportive of my many expensive habits (as I am of hers). Poopsi and I at a recent cattle branding…

She’s a Flamenco guitar fan, so she’s asked me to start working on bass accompaniment for that. Definitely different, but fun to play.
Congrats! I think both of you came out alright with the "current" situation.

PillO and I chipped in and bought you two a nice present. If he doesn't send it, please let him know. If he starts showing up in new leisure suits, I'm going to start questioning things. ;)

We recently had 35 and have known each other 38. Man, my wife is lucky! I am too. She's reasonably indulgent with my bass vice. I tell her I was born that way and can't help it. She doesn't mind things involving projectiles either.

Probably not, but potentially a tracer round. Incendiary rounds weren’t very common, tracer rounds were more common. You’d be able to tell by the tip if it weren’t so corroded. I can’t tell from that pic. Just don’t try to file or sand the crud off of it and don’t store it near a high heat source like a fire place or stove top and you should be fine. Obviously don’t strike it with a hammer or cut it with a saw.
Great wisdom. Looks like a typical round, but....impossible to say for sure in the current state and removing some of the current state could be quite the reveal.

On Monday, I accepted a fair offer for one of my recently posted custom basses on Reverb. When one makes an offer - one is obligated to buy it if the offer is accepted. You get a quick (Reverb) reply saying once the offer has money sent/confirmed, you can ship. Never heard back. I looked at the offer again and noticed at the bottom the guy asked if it was still for sale (obviously if you were able to make an offer) and if so to contact him via an email. ~ scam ~ Contacted Reverb and talked with a rep on the phone to inform them and have my bass re-posted. They did and threw in a 'bump' to help get it sold. Reverb is a good company.

Anyway... the reason I brought it up is that if I had sold the bass, I probably would have bought that black T-bird. But I didn't so I didn't. :)
Hate that, but glad you didn't get jacked around any more than you did. Reverb seems good. I'm buying more and more there and hardly anything from ebay these days. Good to know they are helpful. I've thought a few times about selling there but, never have, yet anyway.

Odd detail I noticed - on the T-bird IV the guy (his tech?) is holding... the black plastic bridge-cover spacers are screwed into place, w/o the cover. Never seen anyone do that before. I have those original bridge & pu cover spacers for my '64 but never considered screwing them in like that. Maybe used as finger rests?
I've never seen that done before. To keep track of them? Who knows. I've got mine, but they are in the original case.

Having owned a coupla Freightliners, I'd kinda prefer one o' these:

Plenty of Freightliners here too Mike. Pretty much all the major players even though the sales volume is tiny compared to the US.

You will not be seeing me in any leisure suits (regardless of how fashionable they may be). However, with respect to the gift, there were some logistical problems...
