I need to take it back in for a set-up next week but we are getting along pretty well.

You left out the part about buying a Squier bass to save money and then putting a Fender sticker on the headstock so nobody would know.

There's just something about the Bird with the outlined headstock that always looks cool to me. Very nice bass!

If you're not already a member be sure to reach out to our fearless Thunderbird club leader to join up. Membership here has its privileges, we all get to hear the U.S., Aussie and Wales contingent mangle the English language, and you'll learn more about bows, cargo pants and flip flops than you thought was possible. But most of all you'll pick up some fantastic pointers on how to get the most out of your Thunderbird.

You forgot Scotch. You'll learn more about Scotch from this group than any other on TB.

I've never had a ponytail... I started taking myself too seriously once I abandoned my mullet in the early 90's.

Maybe someday when I'm retired and living in the sun-belt.
I was kinda under the impression that Beatle hair cuts were replaced by long hair in the 70's which were in turn replaced by mullets in the late 80's, which were in turn replaced by pony tails In the 90's and that they've in turn been replaced by man buns or top knots. I'm holding out for when top knots are replaced by receding hairlines, then I'll really be in vogue!

The bassist in both of the pics are defying conventional TB wisdom..............:D

That you must play a 7ender P bass with flats and a tort PG. Then be sure to stand in the shadows off to one side of the drummer and claim to be "holding down the groove" or some other such crap. Top it off by wearing cargo shorts and flip flops, then complain on TB that nobody notices you or your playing and plan a ragequit from your band.

I am not supposed to wear cargo shorts? How about black socks and sandals?

Went to a friends house and used this big old sander to sand of the flanges of the bushings. It took less than a minute for each flange. Went half way down with the grinding, then switched to the nest bushing. Tried to not get things too hot. They turned out well. This was a very easy step, if you have the right tool that is.

Speaking words of wisdom, let it be... I started playing bass at the age of 30 and yes, with a Squier P-Bass :rollno::rollno:

The first Tbird got me in '96 (the Epiphone NR):), or was it in '73 with this young man playing a Thunderbird?

wh-- nothing! Ha ha... (rolls eyes)

You know that reference to the "Sensitive New Age Guy"... he's in his 50s and has a ponytail. I had a ponytail when I lived in Miami. Sometimes. Now I wear hats.

No worries Roger! :) I might be that "Sensitive New Age Guy" (in my 50s, sport a ponytail from time to time) if I wasn't more into Metal and Hard Rock (and Classic Rock too)! ;)
