Thunderbird Club

Cut my G string too short

I only got one wrap..
It’ll likely be fine. But if you are concerned, call Jason At Fret Nation and see if he can set you up with a single G sting. I’ll leave the remainder of this reply to my friend @PillO.
Ok..I’ve been super chatty today.
Having said that,it is clear that this club is full of enablers.
I just closed the deal on a 22 NR.I was hoping for a sparkling burgundy from Sweetwater but it is unavailable at this time and this came up on my local CL.
My seller was super cool and we have a lot in common.
I’m already digging the new NR..it will be the first in rotation on the next gig.
Cheers ya’llView attachment 4851962View attachment 4851965View attachment 4851969View attachment 4851972
Congratulations! You’ll love it. I haven’t switched out the three point on mine for a Babicz yet. It sets up perfectly. Nice ‘13 my friend.

That chip can be easily fixed with the kit fron Gluboost.

I saw a band called Magnum open for Ozzy in 1982. The bass player played an Ovation Magnum. I found that kind of funny at the time, but that may have been due to the thick smoke everywhere.

My good friend had the Magnum with the 3 band eq. Was a cool bass but SUPER heavy, as others have pointed out. If I remember correctly the magnetic field of the pickup pole pieces was narrow and if you bent the string too far the sound would drop off.
 Smoke made things funny? Some weird oxidation taking place there.

Open up the window, let some air into this room
I think I'm almost chokin' from the smell of stale perfume
And that cigarette you're smokin' 'bout scare me half to death
Open up the window, sucker, let me catch my breath

Did they let you join the Ric Club here?
:roflmao:

Likely gave him one of these...

We accept him because he's not right like the rest of us.

I’m not a joiner.

I have a few regular posters in the ric club on ignore…

one of them even tattled on the ric resource forum…
I think you need to do a headless Ric to really set them off. Or just use a Thunderbird TRC.

I don’t know if that’s it, but one funny thing: many think it’s very important to keep the “Made in USA” sticker on. Willy made a bunch of copies and plastered a bass with them.
No wonder mine never lived up to expectations. No sticker. For Ric's tone must be in the sticker.
Would it be wrong to go over there and post that?

I'll be right over. I'm a huge bourbon fan. We'll have to compare notes.
Arrange a boondoggle to SoCal for work. You’ll be amazed at what George has. And I have no idea what I’ve yet to see. We’re planning another GTG in the next few weeks. Let’s us know when you’re coming. I’ll even meet you at LAX or Burbank if you need me to. He has a lovely home, a great wife and very cool dog. I’m kicking myself for not meeting up with him sooner.

Hey, there’s always room for another lefty in this house. My left handed wife is from the right coast (Philly) she puts up with my bass addiction. Unfortunately I don’t have any left handed basses, hmmm maybe I could change that.

I may be getting a new job. Hoping it will involve some travel to the States!

Those are both awesome! It helps to have a really good guitarist demo'ing it. EH makes great pedals! We use the Mel9 (mellotron) pedal for keys but it also sounds great with guitar and bass.

In their promos, they state that they'll work for keys but they don't have any examples-or didn't when I contacted them.
