We see them pop up once in awhile on the canadian used market (BC, ON, QC), but right now there are 3 Rippers and a Grabber on Kijiji and MarketPlace.
Most are Gibson originals, 1 is an Epi reissue.

Hi guys!
I have a weird problem with my Thunderbird, i wonder if someone has any idea.

The issue is with the rear-pickup. It works fine turning the volume pot up until 5~6, but if i turn it more, it starts to make a strange distorted buzzing noise and if i turn it even more, the sound of the pickup completely cuts out. However, if i pull on the pot, physically, with my fingers, then the sound comes back with no problem, i can release the pot and play it completely fine on higher volumes, the sound is stable and clear.
But again, if i roll back down the pot, and turn it up again, the exact same thing occurs.
What the issue could be!?

Sounds like the pot has gone bad. Good news is it’s a cheap and easy fix if you know how to solder. If not, take it to a luthier and have them put a new pot in it.

From your description, I would replace the pot.

Last weekend hit my Tbird´s headstock on roof (ceiling on spot is lower); lucky me didn´t made a dent or ding
