Thunderbird Club

I'm surprised you have heard them before - they are pretty obscure having only made that one LP. Mine was a cut-out bin find for $1.99 when it was new in '71. I liked the way they looked on the back pic.

I reviewed records & concerts for the Technique (Georgia Tech newspaper) and worked at WREK (the radio station). Between the two, I saw a lot of lesser known stuff. Some went on to be better known (like Kansas). Many (like Brahman) didn't.

I won an album in high school from a local radio station. I went to pick it up and they pointed me to bins of albums they didn't want. I picked Steel River's "A Better Road" strictly because they looked most like a rock band. I wasn't whelmed with it. "Joyful Judy" and maybe one other song were decent (in my book), but that was it. Then again, another time I won a copy of "The History of Eric Clapton" because I knew all about 43 man squamish. That was a cool album.

Yes, a couple of years ago when I was up for car week at Pebble. Don’t recall who was playing but it was either a Friday or Saturday night. IIRC we also caught Bands on the Beach (Jefferson Airplane, AKA Jefferson Starship, AKA Starship, AKA that band that used to have Grace Slick). Forgot how many great songs they had over the years.

What were they like without Grace?

LOL - It was a free concert, on the beach, in the evening, in Santa Cruz - could have been a high school band and it would have been great.:D
Seriously, they sounded pretty good, Grace is Grace and nobody else is, but her replacement did a damn good job on every song. You be the judge, a cheap phone recording posted on YouTube from that concert in 2018…

Oh, and don’t forget advice from your mom - underwear, clean underwear, no holes! Heaven forbid you should end up in the hospital and not have good underwear on. :roflmao:

In that case, I'd definitely recommend something kinky.

I wouldn't know anything about that.

…some FSO content here last week…but no FSO neck for my Hamer Bird project, the 60s Tbird wreck (neck) is fixed and plays well with old rotosound flats attached…bridge position needed to be changed, bridge actually a hipshot a style type…pots and jack not mounted yet, pickups are Gibson Tbird+ ceramics as used in Les Paul basses….here compared to my favorite player Epi VP…Hamer pickup positions are a bit south…

Before I throw the switch and risk smoking some good chit...I mean vintage amps, can I get a verification that what I understood last time is correct?

Bass into input 1 on my Music Man Sixty-five (connected to both the MM 115rh and Trace Elliot 2103h)
Input 2 on my Music Man Sixty-five into my Zoom B3n
Zoom B3n into the input on my Sunn Concert Bass (connected to the 215m)

The only thing extra is I put the Zoom in the loop as it is my plug in tuner and could also give me some sound options on the 215m cabinet.

Other than having a hard time getting into the draggy feel of White Rabbit, it sounds great!
