He was a guitarist who played bass very well. He once said he tried to emulate what Leon had been doing (but no doubt added his out touch), and I'm thinking he played a Ric. Seems like I saw a pic once. Leon was playing one about that time and a first gen Pbass.

Way to go! Just like my old Mk III. Interested to here how the 150 sounds compared to your other heads when you get it running.

I only went (to Chico) for the Peavey, but he threw in the Acoustic too, just to be rid of it, it seems
I had one that I took as part of a trade. Fool that I am sold it. It's a nice warm sounding head--as warm as I recall ever playing through. The Peavey was pretty warm as well.). The sub octave is great. Not heavy and a sounded really good for SS. I'd buy it in a heart beat. The EQ is not typical. It might take a bit to get the hang of it, but it works very well. Chuck can explain it well if you get it.

Don't know yet....PO just said "it doesn't work".

Here's one of those things: when I saw your pic, it really stuck in my mind for a couple of days and then after, this one pops up in the locals. It's like my brain knew it was coming up. Dude lives about 10 minutes from my place, too. It's not like I need another head, got too many heads I don't use already, including the one on my shoulders, but, ya know... still thinking about. I might even stop thinking about it and actually do something about it. Just might.
Very flexible head and all kinds of EQ options. I ran mine mostly with both channels blended. What I did to the parametric eq looked like an idiot just turned knobs, but it created a huge tone with all kinds of punch.
Initial tests confirm.....neither head "works"

Close to the 2000 in neck profile.
Per Chuck's comment on the tone cutting through the mix- very few surprises on this one, especially compared to Freebird.
It's not a guitar line, but it's clear whoever came up with this wasn't a traditional bass purist[1]. The chording that starts just after 3:30 is probably the most guitar-centric part.
[1] I suspect leon and Ed both influenced each other.

My Uncle Randy had one of those. He wore a wetsuit to play it, which meant the static charge built up throughout the set, starting to glow about half way through. He could gauge it just right, and hit the climax of their closing song right when the static built up enough to discharge through a 3 foot lightning bolt to the ground, a mic stand, the lead guitarist, whatever was nearest. His third drummer pioneered the use of the plexiglass drum cage. That guy lasted, unlike the first two.
